For the time being, President Trump is able to act in the manner prescribed under the Constitution, as the Commander-in-Chief, in defense of our nation. The Supreme Court has reinstated most of the executive order banning travel from six terrorist nations and imposing a pause on the “Refugee” importation repopulation scheme.
The Supreme Court will take up the matter more fully this fall, but for now, President Trump has the green light. The Supreme Court actions affirms, the Obama operative so-called judges exceeded their authority, ruled upon political bias and speculation, and diminished themselves, their courts and our judiciary.
President Trump issued a statement saying, “Today’s unanimous Supreme Court decision is a clear victory for our national security. It allows the travel suspension for the six terror-prone countries and the refugee suspension to become largely effective.
As President, I cannot allow people into our country who want to do us harm. I want people who can love the United States and all of its citizens, and who will be hardworking and productive.
My number one responsibility as Commander in Chief is to keep the American people safe. Today’s ruling allows me to use an important tool for protecting our Nation’s homeland. I am also particularly gratified that the Supreme Court’s decision was 9-0.” The administration plans to reinstate the travel ban within 72 hours.
In the interim period between now and the fall hearing the Court is allowing the Trump administration to enforce the executive order against anyone from those nations and “refugee” who does not already have a “bona fide relationship” with a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
The Daily Mail noted, “Technically, the justices left a lower court injunction in place, but only for people whose cases mirror those of the original plaintiffs – meaning ‘foreign nationals who have a credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States.’ All other foreign nationals are subject to the provisions of [the executive order].”
Those on the left and others who are sympathetic to or pro-terrorism are already eyeing the caveat of a “bona fide relationship.” Reuters reports that groups challenging the ban, including the American Civil Liberties Union, said that most people from the affected countries seeking entry to the United States would have the required connections. But they voiced concern the administration would interpret the ban as broadly as it could. We, as Americans at risk, would certainly hope that the administration does exactly that.
Naturally, since the ACLU is an anti-American, pro-communist, pro-invasion, globalist agitator group, we can expect they will be camping out in airports, on the phone to “refugee” centers, manning a desk at CAIR and doing everything else they possibly can in order to find any possible instance upon which to challenge the interpretation.
ACLU lawyer Omar Jadwat said, “It’s going to be very important for us over this intervening period to make sure the government abides by the terms of the order and does not try to use it as a back door into implementing the full-scale Muslim ban that it’s been seeking to implement.”
The ACLU bias is exposed in his comments, his declaration that the Trump administration seeks a Muslim ban. That’s the same falsehoods spread by other enemies of this nation, there is no ban on the travel of most Muslims into the US nor was it ever part of an executive order. He also claims to know what is inside the president’s head, saying that a Muslim ban is what the administration seeks to implement. For Jadwat, the Liberty in ACLU includes taking full liberty with the truth.
