President Trump talked to reporters as he was leaving the White House for Thanksgiving, expressing his views on Judge Roy Moore and the liberal Democrat he…
As he was on the south lawn of the White House heading to catch Marine One, President Trump stopped to take a few questions from reporters.
He was asked about Judge Roy Moore and whether he supports his candidacy in the Alabama Senate race. President Trump replied, “I can tell you one thing for sure. We don’t need a liberal person in there, a Democrat, Jones. I’ve looked at his record.”
Trump says, “It’s terrible on crime, it’s terrible on the border, it’s terrible in the military. I can tell you for a fact we do not need somebody that’s going to be bad on crime, bad on borders, bad with the military, bad for the Second Amendment.”
A female reporter asks, “Mr. President, do you believe Roy Moore’s accusers?” President Trump responded, “Well, he denies it, look, he denies it. I mean, if you look at what is really going on and you look at all of the things that have happened over the last 48 hours, he totally denies it. He says it didn’t happen and you know, you have to listen to him also.” [VIDEO BELOW]
Trump continued, “He said forty years ago this did not happen, so, you know.” The same feminist reporter pursues the point further, asking, “What is your message to women, sir, during this pivotal moment in our country, where we’re talking about sexual misconduct, you’ve had your own allegations against you.”
Apparently she expects the President to have a separate message for every subset of Americans. Trump answers, “Roy Moore denies it, that’s all I can say, he denies it, and by the way, he totally denies it.” Sounding upset that she didn’t get her feminist pat on the head, she presses, “but your message to women?” He’s already moved on to the next question. It turns out that reporter asked the same question, which he answered.
He’s asked about Al Franken and John Conyers and declines to state a position, preferring to allow them to speak for themselves. He then takes a question about a phone call he had with President Putin which President Trump says lasted almost an hour and a half, with discussion of Syria, North Korea and Ukraine.
Before he leaves the press takes the topic back to Roy Moore, with President Trump reiterating Moore’s steadfast denials and pointing out that it’s been forty years, with Moore running eight races in the interim with it never having come up before.
The feminist jumps back in with a hysterical tone in her voice and reminding the President that they were young girls at the time. There age is irrelevant if the actions never took place and Trump has already stated that Moore denies their claims. Clearly the feminist reporter has already convicted the Judge on the basis of the flimsy evidence and isn’t listening to anything else.
His last question is whether the names of lawmakers who have settled sexual harassment claims should be released, with President Trump in support of Congress making that policy change.
