Trump Right Again – Intel Heads Admit No Impact IF Russians Hacked

trump briefing

On Friday President-elect Donald Trump met with Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, CIA Director John Brennan, FBI Director James Comey, and Adm. Michael Rogers, the head of the National Security Agency and U.S. Cyber Command. The meeting served to reinforce Mr. Trump’s long held position that much of this hand-wringing was politically driven by the Democrats, that there was no impact on the election.

Mr. Trump affirmed  that any efforts by Russia had “absolutely no effect” on the outcome of the election. He issued a statement, saying, “While Russia, China, other countries, outside groups and people are consistently trying to break through the cyber infrastructure of our governmental institutions, businesses and organizations including the Democrat National Committee, there was absolutely no effect on the outcome of the election including the fact that there was no tampering whatsoever with voting machines.”

Mr. Trump added that there were attempts to hack the RNC but that unlike their Democrat counterparts in the DNC, the Republicans had the proper security measures in place to repel the efforts. Following the meeting Mr. Trump stated, “I have tremendous respect for the work and service done by the men and women of this community to our great nation,” and seemed ready to let the Clinton – Obama driven issue die.

Trump promised an aggressive plan to defend the nation from cyber attacks within 90 days of taking office. He said, “The methods, tools and tactics we use to keep America safe should not be a public discussion that will benefit those who seek to do us harm. Two weeks from today I will take the oath of office and America’s safety and security will be my number one priority.”

In an unclassified report issued a few hours after the Trump meeting, the intelligence chiefs outlined their findings. They stated, “We assess Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the U.S. presidential election. Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the U.S. democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency. We further assess Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump.” No specifics as to upon what basis they made those “assessments” was provided, just as has been the case all along.

Missing was their claims of a Russian “influence campaign” were any indication of any cyber activity whatsoever. The desired influence could have been sought through billboards, radio advertisements or telemarketers. Where is the hacking and why are they so reluctant to provide evidence if it exists? It’s not a crime to dislike Hillary Clinton or for Putin, seeking a more stable world leader not driven by the desire to make a buck regardless of its impact on the world, to prefer a rational Trump over a corrupt profiteer.

There is often a simple blanket statement made by the propagandists in the mainstream fake-news media that “the Russians hacked the elections.” That leads some to interpret that Russian meddling was the reason Mr. Trump was elected. Once again this meeting reinforced the fact that no totals or tabulating equipment or systems were involved nor have they ever been alleged to have been part of any Russian effort.

The information in question was related to unflattering emails and other documents regarding Hillary Clinton and John Podesta. It’s information which was all true, and often revealed things which the campaign then had to try to lie their way out of. There is also a question of whether the source involved a hacking or leaked information provided by an insider which still has not been substantiated. The information flowing from those in the Obama administration as to specifics regarding their allegations has been characteristically slow.

That’s how the Obama regime does things, in an obstructionist, controlling manner, providing only the information that advances their claims, if any exists and it can be released, and withholding anything that does not.

Since virtually nothing has been forthcoming, and Mr. Trump’s position is unchanged following the meeting, there is also the possibility that he might be letting the overzealous Obama employees off the hook on this one. Mr. Trump is going to have to work with them in the future. He may be in the process of winning them over as there’s nothing at this point to be gained by exposing any compromises of their objectivity.
