TPP, sold as a global trade deal, is a facade for imposing global government and rigging trade to benefit the corporate giants who wrote the agreement. There’s nothing free about…
We thought the debate over and the threat to our sovereignty from TPP was over for America when President Trump withdrew us from the pact shortly after taking office. With him now considering a return to the certain death to America that this crony rigged trade agreement ensures, it’s worthwhile to take a look at a debate that was occurring back in Feb of 2016, when the criminal Obama was in office and Hillary Clinton was running away from her support of the sellout to their corporate masters. The post from RickWells.US provides a glimpse into just how restrictive, unfair and bad for America this deal is. It’s made available again below:
A debate between the Obama regime, special interests and congressional Republicans and Democrats over tobacco is providing a glimpse into the enormous mountain of profiteering and problems that are engineered into the Trans-Pacific Partnership, TPP. It is not a free trade agreement that will provide economic security for the American people as the politicians and money changers would have us believe; it is the exact opposite.
TPP is a set of rules written by big business and their lobbyists that ensure those who wrote the deal receive a host of major advantages. The biggest losers are the American people and our self-determining system of government.
Just how bad this deal is for America is illustrated by a report from The Hill in which what they call “public health groups” are pressing for Democrat support of TPP because of a carve-out that denies tobacco companies “protection” under dispute settlement provisions. That protection would provide reimbursement for lost “estimated revenue” by a government regardless of the reasons or routine nature of the causes or their legitimate service to the citizens. It’s international corporate extortion. The decision is final; there is no appeal.
The anti-tobacco group is pressing for the approval of TPP because they are specifically denied the ability to sue under dispute settlement provisions. Tobacco advocates, such as Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who was one of the chief proponents of the agreement when Obama was first given fast-track authority, now claims he opposes it, based narrowly on the tobacco “carve outs.”
What is being debated with tobacco is representative of the big picture and the mess that these greedy politicians and corporate fat cats have created. National sovereignty is negatively impacted as corporations, NGOs and other unelected bodies are positioned as superior to the legitimately elected people and their governmental foundations, such as our own Constitution. Foreign commissions will have jurisdiction over the United States under this insane agreement in a manner not unlike the European Union. This agreement has the very real potential to destroy our republic.
Gregg Haifley, the federal relations director with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, raised the litigation issue, arguing that the tobacco provision will reduce global tobacco use while protecting the sovereignty of governments from expensive and unwarranted litigation. He’s stating that the absence of the carve-outs would create such litigation, under the new TPP regulations.
The most damaging evidence of the reckless endangerment represented by this deal is illustrated in a statement made by Matthew Myers, president of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. He said there is “no bending – even if the U.S. wanted to change it, they don’t have the power to do it. It is supported by a very large number of countries.”
That is the same situation for any situation which would have domestic implications within the United States. The majority of countries within the TPP, and that membership can be increased at virtually any time, determine our domestic policies, not our elected officials and not the American people.
TPP represents a steep, direct and fast slide down the slippery slope of global government to a situation in which the United States is no longer a sovereign nation. We’re all subjects to a globalist crown at the signing of this agreement although none of the traitors pushing it want us to know what’s really being done to us.
Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Orin Hatch, John Cornyn, and comrade Hussein Obama all know they are killing American sovereignty. They’ve all got their own treacherous reasons not to care.
