Senator Jeff Sessions was always a champion of American workers and forcefully voiced his opposition to the abuses of work visas that regularly occur and which are used to displace Americans for their jobs and the workforce in favor of cheap foreign labor. President Trump, while campaigning and since has pledge to eliminate visa abuse as part of putting Americans first and Sessions, as Attorney General, has been expected to lead that effort.
Now there appears to be movement in that direction, something that could pay huge dividends for Americans seeking employment in STEM fields for which they are trained but unable to find work. The first steps are being taken for the establishment of consequences for reprehensible employers who put bottom line ahead of what is legal and best for the nation and for a review of the work visa process.
The US Citizenship and Immigration Services announced on Monday that they will initiate steps targeting H-1B abusers and the prevention of abuse and fraud related to the H-1B visa program. High on the list of targeted worksites will be those where fraud and abuse are common, particularly workplaces with a high ratio of H-1B workers compared to U.S. workers as well as those where employers are petitioning for H-1B workers for a separate, off-site company location.
Companies such as Facebook, whose Mark Zuckerberg was identified by then-Senator Sessions as being an exploitative “Master of the Universe,” are likely to be entertaining federal guests soon and frequently, as they have a policy of America last employment and utilize the anti-American, foreigner slavery enabling and hiring permission slip of the H-1B visa extensively.
The Daily Caller reports that UCIS will be conducting random, unannounced workplace visits to determine whether or not employers “are evading their obligation to make a good faith effort to recruit U.S. workers.”
In a preemptive strike against the hand-wringing liberals, USCIS issued a statement saying, “These site visits are not meant to target nonimmigrant employees for any kind of criminal or administrative action but rather to identify employers who are abusing the system. The H-1B visa program should help U.S. companies recruit highly-skilled foreign nationals when there is a shortage of qualified workers in the country. Yet, too many American workers who are as qualified, willing, and deserving to work in these fields have been ignored or unfairly disadvantaged.”
In a refreshing bit of pro-American posturing that would never have been seen from the Obama regime, SCICS, in association with the DOJ, also included a warning to employers against discriminating against US workers for H-1B visa holders in their Monday announcement.
Sounding like the Sessions of old, acting Assistant Attorney General Tom Wheeler, of the previously racist and pro-foreigner, anti-American DOJ Civil Rights division, issued a statement. He said, “The Justice Department will not tolerate employers misusing the H-1B visa process to discriminate against U.S. workers.” He added, “US workers should not be placed in a disfavored status, and the department is wholeheartedly committed to investigating and vigorously prosecuting these claims.”
