There’s no telling what Chuck Schumer was thinking as he tried a more measured tone in his political rhetoric, a ridiculous attempt to shame and persuade President Trump to wait until after the midterm elections to appoint a replacement for retiring Supreme Court Justice Kennedy.
It’s as if Schumer is secretly aware that President Trump has chronic Stockholm syndrome and that he would welcome even more obstructionism than he’s facing at every turn in every form Democrats can throw at him. Schumer argued that President Trump should wait until there might be more than the current 49 Democrat Senators, following the midterms and even perhaps, in his wildest nightmares, a Majority Leader Schumer. Calling it the “most important Supreme Court vacancy for this country in at least a generation,” Schumer illustrated, in the typical Democrat double-speak, that the liberal sky might well be falling. He said that “the fate of our healthcare system [sealed when the Dems passed a bill nobody could read as a stealth wealth redistribution mechanism], reproductive rights for women [infanticide on demand] and countless other protections [giveaways of other people’s stuff] for middle class [parasitic] Americans are at stake.”
Schumer declared to the Senate, establishing their obstructionist position which was never in any doubt, “The Senate should reject, on a bipartisan basis [Democrats and RINOs], any justice who would overturn Roe v Wade or undermine key healthcare protections.”
Schumer then went on to the customary distortion part of his grandstanding, saying that Republicans should adhere to the same “rule” the Democrats so bitterly opposed just a couple of years earlier, not to consider a Supreme Court justice in an election year. He distorts the fact that Republicans were talking about Presidential elections and a President’s nominating authority and claims it applies to Congress as well and that was what McConnell had been advocating.
Schumer involved a topic he’s as familiar with as anyone on the planet, that of hypocrisy, in his attempt to strong-arm McConnell. McConnell wouldn’t have gone for the bait regardless, but he probably is enjoying rubbing the Democrats’ noses in it a bit more, after he and wife Elaine Chao were on the receiving end of a Maxine Waters special, personal touch agitation by leftist millennial goons on Monday night.
He closed by expressing his fears over a potential nominee, “chosen from President Trump’s pre-ordained list, selected by powerful special interests, who will reverse the ‘progress’ we have made over the decades.” It’s what Americans who value life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, our Constitution and basic freedoms are hoping for, Chuckie.
Communist progressive Democrats marching, and at times sprinting under Obama, towards the dismantling of our nation is progress in the most negative sense, towards our destruction as a nation of values, laws and the principles of freedom.
We need to repopulate the courts, including the Supreme Court, with sane people who mirror Americans. One down, three activists to go.
