Scaramucci Financial Data Leaked To Politico – Calling FBI, DOJ

White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci promised when he took his new position to make stopping leaks one of his first priorities. He’s fired one White House staffer so far, but now he’s got even more motivation than simply doing his job in service to President Trump and the nation. Somebody just made it personal.

On Wednesday even Scaramucci announced that he will involve both the FBI and the Department of Justice in investigating the leaking of his financial disclosure statement filed with the Office of Government Ethics, something he described as a felony.

He tweeted, “In light of the leak of my financial disclosure info, which is a felony, I will be contacting @FBI and the @TheJusticeDept.” He also tagged White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and added the hashtag #swamp.

His reason for tagging Priebus remains undisclosed but the Chief of Staff has been named by some in or close to the Trump organization, such as Roger Stone, as a possible source of some of the endless series of leaks. Ryan Lizza, a Washington correspondent for the New Yorker, tweeted that he can confirm that Scaramucci wants the FBI to investigate Priebus as a potential perpetrator.

It’s interesting that on the same day the security breach occurred, Scaramucci invited both the FBI and the DOJ in to get to the bottom of things, to determine who is responsible. Contrast that with the Clinton, DNC situation where we’re many months and an election after the supposed hacking and the FBI still has not had a peek. One might be tempted to conclude Scaramucci wants to find out who is responsible and that the Democrats don’t or have something to hide.

Politico reported that Scaramucci’s wealth, including assets worth as much as $85 million is fully disclosed and on display in the report. Additionally it details potential millions of dollars in earnings from the sale of his stake in his investment firm, SkyBridge Capital.

Politico reached out to White House spokeswoman Natalie Strom for comment on Scaramucci’s SkyBridge investment and to the Treasury Department. Marisol Garibay, a Treasury spokesperson had not yet returned the call at the time of their report.

Scaramucci joined the Export-Import Bank in June, but has taken unpaid leave since he started, according to the report. It’s a safe bet that whoever the leaker is, they are going to feel a lot of heat and stand a very good chance of being made an example of. This was a very bad idea on their part. It’s great for America, though, we need strong action to gain in popularity in the White House.

They’re not draining the swamp, they’ve been waiting for it to evaporate. Now the new deputy in town to the new Sheriff has been provoked. This could be fun.

  1. I sure hope Scaramucci is the real deal. Pointing to Priebus is a good start, and, IMO, he should pay strict attention to the snake Pence. Both Priebus and Pence are in league with Ryan and the rest of the swamp.

As soon as Pence was assigned transition team leadership I felt the swamp would be filling and not draining.

  2. There’ve been stories about Priebus for months now. I always kind of hoped they weren’t true, bad on me. He has such a high position in the Republican party. Yeccchhhh. If it starts now, nobody is safe, lol. Good for Scaramucci. Though I’m not sure how he can trust the FBI or the DOJ.

  3. Karl Rove claims the “leaked” information is publicly available on line for anyone to see. Essentially, he said Scaramucci’s complaint is BS.

  4. That’s for sure, Rick…this could be fun.
