Judge Roy Moore is had a good day Tuesday as the RNC has returned to supporting his Alabama Senate campaign and President Trump officially endorsed him. Now it’s a sprint
Mitch McConnell and the establishment Republicans seem to have figured out that shooting themselves in the foot and inflicting a wound that takes, at a minimum, six years to heal is not a politically expedient move. It’s even more nonsensical when there’s nothing to be gained through the stubbornness.
The financial spigot is back on, the establishment bluff failed, and Alabama voters have not abandoned Judge Roy Moore. The best efforts of McConnell, his fellow DC elites and Democrats failed once again.
Finally they seem to have figured out that Moore is far better than the perverted Democrat, Doug Jones, who thinks naked grown men sharing restrooms and showers with innocent young girls is perfectly alright and to be applauded as some sort of tolerant diversity.
Every seat counts in the Senate, and maybe a conservative Christian won’t be so hard for them to take after all, especially considering the alternative.
The reversal was first reported by Breitbart and has now been confirmed by a senior RNC official. The news came on Tuesday, the same day that President Trump formally endorsed Judge Moore.
According to Roll Call, Federal Election Commission records indicate there were no new filings, indicating that the RNC has not yet rejoined the joint fundraising committee with the Alabama GOP and the Moore campaign. Moore’s fundraising efforts have been roughly one tenth of what the Democrats have been able to bring in since the questionable sexual allegations were first brought forward.
Even so Moore has held his own and is in some polls leading by five to six points. The infusion of cash from the RNC as well as the endorsement by President Trump could well be the difference between losing and winning for the Republican candidate.
When the accusations against Moore were first publicized, the establishment National Republican Senatorial Committee, headed by grandstanding RINO Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO), called for Moore to be expelled if he wins the election. That was just a bit too knee jerk of a reaction and one that was obviously a PR stunt.
Maybe Gardner should check the contents of his closet closely and see if there’s anything someone could distort in an attack against him before he provides a reason by putting those words into action.
The people of Alabama have rights that no Colorado or DC swamp creature should try to take away from them. Let them make the decision, now with the RNC and President Trump’s help.
