CNN’s Alisyn Camerota asked Congressman Steve King during their extensive interview about the $1.6 billion that is allocated in the 2018 budget by Congress to begin construction on the Border Wall.

She asked, “Are you comfortable providing $1.6 billion of taxpayer money, not from Mexico, to build that wall? He responded, “Absolutely yes and more. And I’d throw another $5 billion on the pile. And I would find a half of a billion dollars of that right out of Planned Parenthood’s budget.”

King continued, “And the rest of it could come out of food stamps and the entitlements that are being spread out for people that haven’t worked in three generations. We’ve got to put America back to work, this administration will do it.”

He says, “And we’ve got to free them up so they can and support the right agenda for this country.” Camerota sees her opportunity to play the “heartless Republican” card, repeating back to King, “You want to take food from the people who are on the lowest rung in terms of the nation’s safety net, and their children, in terms of food stamps, you’re willing to take money from them to build the $1.6, or to give the $1.6 billion for the border wall.”

King doesn’t bother to correct her, that she missed where he just explained that would be part of a $4.5 billion increase, instead he just lets it pass, nods in affirmation, and says, “For a couple of reasons. One of them will be that we will create the kind of security that would bring about ten million new jobs in America, just by enforcing immigration law.”

“A second thing is,” says King, “I wouldn’t impose anything anymore strict on anybody in America than what Michelle Obama did with her school lunch program. And so I would just say let’s limit it to that, anybody that wants to have food stamps up to the school lunch program, that’s fine.”

He points out, “We have seen this go from 19 million people on now SNAP program up to 47 million people on the SNAP program.” Camerota interjects, “And you don’t think all of them need it.” King replies, “Oh, I’m sure that all of them didn’t need it, so we need to set this down and ratchet it back down again.”

King says, “We built the programs to solve the problem of malnutrition in America. And now we have a problem of obesity. And when you match up the EBT card with what the scales say on some of the folks, I think it’s worth looking at. Michelle Obama looked at it,  Republicans should be able to look at it too.

  1. If someone is unable to work, then they need assistance, without a doubt! My son worked at a grocery store and handled EBT. One woman would drive in in her Cadillac Escalade and load that vehicle up with three grocery carts of food, junk food and drinks. He was there for 8 years and every year she got a new Escalade. She wasn’t hiding anything, except that if she could afford this kind of vehicle, she didn’t need that EBT card! There is far to much of this kind of thing happening in America. There are to many free-bees given out that taxpayers are footing the bill for. Hussein thought he had his hands on an endless flow of money.

And I would totally defund Planned parenthood, they are nothing but a tax drain on taxpayers for people to have abortions. You go there for anything else and all they do is refer you to other places, but for an abortion, they say yeah come on in. Well, I am tired of paying for it.

There are a lot of people who are collecting food stamps. welfare etc. who should not be getting it. Illegals, so called refugees and young healthy people who don’t want to work need to be thrown off these programs. No, I am not heartless, I have seen the abuses of our system first hand.

  5. Now why can there not be more as Steve King in D.C.
