Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) opposes the confirmation of Gina Haspel as CIA director, a battle that he has already lost on the basis of the numbers, with a sufficient number of Democrats shifting their positions to supporting her that she will be confirmed this week, barring any major developments.

Senator Paul has planted the seed for just such a development in a letter he sent to the nominee on Tuesday, asking her if she was in any way involved with the surveillance of President Trump during the 2016 campaign. It seems like an obvious question that should have come up during Senate hearings, particularly from Democrats supposedly opposed to her confirmation.

Of course if they raised the issue they would risk implicating their own party and many of their members in domestic spying on the opposition candidate. That’s a Pandora’s box they’re desperately trying to keep the lid on, which was a major diversionary motivation in the pursuit of the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax by Robert Mueller and his DOJ accomplices.

Most Republicans wouldn’t ask the question because they either support Haspel and wouldn’t do anything to derail her nomination or are establishment tools undermining the President. Then there’s lone wolf Rand Paul, who doesn’t support Haspel but does support President Trump. He has no interest in protecting corrupt, anti-American globalists in either party. He’s not only not afraid to ask, the letter’s already been sent and he’s talking it up.

Paul told Fox News, “She’s high enough up in the CIA. I think we should know what she knows about whether the Trump campaign was surveilled upon. Before she’s appointed, if she is indeed appointed, I would like to know what does she know about the surveillance of the Trump campaign and why was the CIA involved?”

President Trump was mocked for claims he made that the Obama regime and their weaponized Intelligence Agency assets had wire-tapped his communications and Trump Tower. Evidence has since come out indicating that was in fact a true statement, but slow-walking of documents and general obstruction by the agencies involved, including DOJ under AG Jeff Sessions, has left America largely uninformed as to the level of corruption and anti-American activities of the illegitimate Obama regime.

Senator Paul’s letter to Haspel is an opportunity to potentially get some of those abuses of power into the public realm and hold those responsible accountable.

Additionally Senator Paul asked if the CIA or any other government agencies had monitored or collected the communications of candidate Trump during his travels to Britain or Europe and whether Haspel or other CIA employees had “cooperated with any foreign intelligence services” to monitor Trump over the last five years.

One might expect that Secretary of State Pompeo would have come forward with those types of revelations during his tenure as CIA Director, if he truly is the man of integrity that so many portray him to be. He had access to all of this information for a year. It’s a question that he should have asked already and the results shared with the President. Perhaps there’s a loyalty or trustworthiness test for Mr. Pompeo hidden in Senator Paul’s letter as well.

Senator Paul also wants to know if the CIA is aware of any efforts by the federal government to monitor any presidential candidates during their trips outside of the US and asked the CIA to reveal what type of circumstances would lead them to track presidential candidates. The New Yorker reported that political goon and former CIA Director John Brennan was briefed by British Intelligence about the Trump campaign’s supposed communications with Russia but failed to reveal how that information was obtained.

Paul said, “I’m concerned there are reports that John Brennan, the former head of the CIA under “president” Obama, that he was cooperating with British intelligence to spy on the Trump campaign. This is a big deal.” Maybe he should ask Haspel if the CIA did any interfering with any political campaigns on behalf of Obama, Soros and the globalists. In the spirit of the Russia, Russia, Russia “transparency” and fair play.

What good does it do to ask these questions of Haspel in a letter? Did Rand Paul not have the opportunity to question her during confirmation hearings?

    • Senator Paul is not a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, he’s much too honest to fit in there, which is where Haspel’s confirmation hearings took place. So he didn’t have the opportunity to question her.

  2. Hm, many of those opposed to Haspel now seem to be swayed. It;s getting to where they have played so many games and thrown up so many shinny objects I don’t know who to believe. I usually agree with Rand Paul’s positions.

  3. a sensible question i feel.
because Trump has RINO’S who are never Trumpers.
