President Trump announced that the strikes into Syria in retaliation for the alleged use of chemical weapons by Assad against his own people was underway. Friday…
President Trump announced on Friday evening that the US, along with Britain and France, were striking against specific targets “associated with the chemical weapons capability” of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The action was said to be in response to their alleged use of chemical weapons to attack innocent civilians in the remaining terrorist stronghold of Douma.
President Trump said in his address that that attack was a significant escalation in a pattern of chemical weapons’ use by that very terrible regime. He said, “The evil and the despicable attack left mothers and fathers, infants and children, thrashing in pain and gasping for air.”
Trump said, “The are not the actions of a man. They are the crimes of a monster instead.”
Russia and Syria have continued to deny that Assad is behind the attack, with the Kremlin stating just hours ago that they had “irrefutable evidence” that the attack that led to the retaliation was fabricated. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov cited “irrefutable data that [this] was yet another staged event and staging was done … by the special services of one of the countries at the forefront of the anti-Russia campaign.”
They may want to present their evidence now, if they actually have it, although yesterday would have been a lot better timing.
