A petition on the White House “We The People” website requesting that President Trump designate the AntiFa thugs as a terrorist organization has reached the necessary 100,000 signatures required to mandate and official White House to response. It was at approximately 8pm Eastern time Sunday that the petition passed that significant threshold.
The petition, titled “Formally Recognize AntiFa as a Terrorist Organization,” accessible here, was created on Thursday, August 17th by M.A. As of the time of this writing it had garnered in excess of 131,000 signatures, well in excess of the minimum number needed.
It reads, “Terrorism is defined as ‘the use of violence and intimidation in pursuit of political aims.’ This definition is the same definition used to declare ISIS and other groups, as terrorist organizations. AntiFa has earned this title due to its violent actions in multiple cities and their influence in the killings of multiple police officers throughout the United States.”
It continues, “It is time for the pentagon to be consistent in its actions – and just as they rightfully declared ISIS a terror group, they must declare AntiFa a terror group – on the grounds of principle, integrity, morality, and safety.”
Antifa was one of the groups that showed up, along with Black Lives Matter, various communist organizations and other assorted leftist thuggery at the Charlottesville Unite the Right protest and provided the excuse for it to be cancelled by the complicit mayor. They then initiated street violence and blockages, the situation which later led to the death of Heather Heyer.
Prior to that incident they were involved in disrupting Trump campaign rallies on behalf of Hillary Clinton, Hussein Obama and their financier, George Soros as well as the riots at the University of California, Berkeley and the intimidation of guest speakers.
Violence is a common theme and tactic for this group that traces its roots back to Germany in the 1930s and an identity as Antifaschistische Aktion.
Of course if such a declaration were to be made, it would only be a matter of hours or less before a similar petition targeting white groups, irrespective of their actions or speech, would be similarly targeting groups on the right. If President Trump failed to then respond in kind he’d be criticized as not only siding with but acting on behalf of the what the left would be calling “white supremacists.” When you have a dishonest press and liars for opponents as well as cowards for allies in the Republican party, doing what’s right is controversial and there is no such thing as an easy win. Everything in the swamp is upside down.
