The discussion starts out with a statement by Julian Assange in which he once again makes it clear that their source for the Clinton and Podesta emails was not a state party, it wasn’t Russia nor was it any other government. Assange goes on to say, “But if we look at the most recent statement by the US government, which was on the 29th of December, then we had five different branches of government, Treasury, DHS, FBI, White House [that’s four] presenting accusations to underpin Obama’s throwing out 35 Russian diplomats. What was missing from all of those statements, the word ‘WikiLeaks.’ That’s very strange.”
Mollie Hemingway of the Federalist notes, as we have done so repeatedly as well, that the joint DHS – FBI report left a lot to be desired in the way of substance and support for the determinations on Russia in either direction. She states that the manner in which the information has been shared makes it seem as if it is a domestic political operation rather than an actual foreign policy that Russia is a serious threat.”
Bret Baier points to the OPM hack by the Chinese in which we know and evidence clearly indicates that millions of records were stolen by the Chinese, how that action resulted in absolutely no response by the Obama regime while this still unsubstantiated breach of the Democrat political system under the notoriously sloppy with security candidate, Hillary Clinton and her apparatus, has drawn a much more aggressive retaliation by Obama.
Krauthammer agrees that the Democrat assertions that the Russians were likely involved but also acknowledges that there appears to be a double standard, one for responses to hacking of our government and citizens and one for hacking his anointed political successor. Obama takes that as a personal assault on his legacy and the ability of him and the global establishment to impose their will against the wishes of the American people. That’s important to him and the people he works for.
They also discuss the pending issue of North Korea and the crazy man that is running a nation with the ability to reach Los Angeles with nuclear weapons. Once again, over the last seven years a foreign government has been working under Obama’s nose or with his fear or timidity clouding his judgment or willingness to engage, perhaps with his blessing against the interests of the United States. Now Donald Trump is going to face all of these emboldened and more powerful bad actors, the result of malfeasance on the part of the Obama regime, just one aspect of the broad spectrum where the Obama misconduct will come back to haunt the United States and force some difficult situations to be resolved.
They are circumstances Obama has placed us in which could have been avoided by appropriate action at the proper time, before they escalated due to his disconnect and failure to have what it takes to run a country or his deliberate positioning of us in harm’s way for reasons yet unknown or unseen.
He’s made Mr. Trump’s job much more difficult and the threat to the American people much greater, all in the apparent interest of making political gains, what really matters to the Democrats.
