There is a short list of Republicans who are speaking out in support of the President. In addition to the most prominent, Georgia’s Newt Gingrich, three Californians have also come to the President’s defense, though they struggle to get exposure in this anti-Trump media. Rep Duncan Hunter, Rep Dana Rohrabacher, and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes.
Nunes, who was an early victim of fabricated ethics complaints by Soros-backed groups that got him booted from the Chairmanship of the ‘Russia investigation,” has run out of patience with the dishonest Democrats and their media promoters. He’s not playing their games anymore. He’s done and he made it clear on Saturday. Nunes told a group of Republican donors, there “was never any collusion between Donald Trump and the Russians,” calling on Washington to “stop chasing Russian ghosts around the closet.”
Nunes told the GOP donors at a function in Orange County, “I said ‘OK, I don’t think there’s any collusion here.’ And what happened to me? All the major papers in the country did a total character assassination on me. Why? Because I was telling the truth, that there was never any collusion between Donald Trump and the Russians.”
I have to ask myself, was this really an investigation in search of a crime?
“Now,” he continued, “I have to ask myself, was this really an investigation in search of a crime? And I will tell you, if that’s what it ends up being, there will be a huge, huge division in this country.” After noting the distraction from real, important business that this fabricated witch hunt has been, Nunes said Republicans need to do a “better job selling” their health care overhaul, for example, but that “part of [it] also means that we have to stop chasing Russian ghosts around the closet and actually get to real work.”
Nunes also called out the media for the environment they helped Obama, Clinton, Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff, Waters and the rest of the despicable Democrats create that led to the shooting at the Congressional baseball practice last Wednesday. He said, “Every night there’s a news story that runs that … has something in common. It’s anti-Trump, anti-Republican, and promotes this nonsense that you’re seeing with protesters everywhere. And they continue to promote it, which continues to promote violence. And you see the latest fiasco with, you know, cutting off Donald Trump’s head to attacking him on stage, or having a Julius Caesar play look like it’s him on stage. So, it didn’t surprise me, quite frankly.”
