Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes updates the situation with the requests for information from Brennan and Clapper as to when and what they knew about the FISA…
Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes gives America an update on his investigation into Democrat Deep State corruption and subversion. He begins with the dozen high profile Democrat officials he sent a list of ten questions to regarding the ill-gotten FISA warrants to spy on Clinton and Democrat Party’s opponent, Donald Trump. Nunes says most of the twelve who have already been sent the letter have responded, “there are a few people who have asked for an additional week,” which was granted. He says, “There are a few people, though, that are not responding.”
Nunes says, “They seem to have went dark. However, if they do not respond here shortly, they will be getting subpoenaed to appear before Congress to be treated with a deposition.” Martha MacCallum asks, “And did John Brennan and James Clapper respond to your questions?” Nunes replies that they did.
She asks, “And what were their responses about when they knew and what they knew?” Nunes informs her that they now have to check the assertions made by Clapper, Brennan and the others against other testimony and check it for veracity and then discuss it among the committee members. For those reasons he can’t answer her question at this time.”
Nunes points out, “We know exactly who was getting information from the Russians. It was the Hillary Clinton campaign, they were getting information from the Russians, dirt on Trump, to use in a campaign. That’s the very thing that for a year and a half we’ve been trying to investigate on whether or not the Trump campaign was trying to get dirt on Hillary Clinton from the Russians.”
MacCallum raises the fact that Christopher Steele was “out there spreading this information [from the dossier] to these reporters” and yet John Brennan expects to get away with a statement under oath that he wasn’t aware of who paid for the dossier at that point, saying he “learned about it in press circles.”
Nunes notes that many writers were briefed by Steele and had the dossier way before the election. “The dossier, on the face of it, is ridiculous.” He points to the absurdity of a point that was made in the dossier that Carter page was going to be paid billions and billions of dollars. He says, “If the FBI really believed that, we’ve got a bigger problem in the FBI with just basic credibility.”
