The Senate Judiciary Committee, under Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has launched yet another investigation into the criminal activity of Hillary Clinton, this time involving abusing her position as Secretary of State to pressure A Bangladeshi official to drop an internal investigation. Maybe this time, with James Comey, Loretta Lynch and Hussein Obama out of the way, she’ll finally see the justice that has been so elusive to this point.
The alleged offenses relate to a Bangladesh government corruption investigation of Muhammad Yunus. Clinton is reported by the Daily Caller to have sent top US diplomats to pressure Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheik Hasina and her son Sajeeb Wazed to kill the investigation of Yunus and Grameen Bank, the state-owned bank where Yunus was then managing director.
In a letter to Secretary of State Tillerson on June 1st, Grassley wrote alerting him of the allegations being made, which included threats by Clinton against Wazed of an IRS tax audit if his mother didn’t drop the investigation. Wazed has lived in the United States for 17 years.
Grassley wrote, “If the Secretary of State used her position to intervene in an independent investigation by a sovereign government simply because of a personal and financial relationship stemming from the Clinton Foundation rather than the legitimate foreign policy interests of the United States, then that would be unacceptable.” Does unacceptable mean a slap on the wrist or criminal charges? If she can get away with stealing and selling all of our secrets, how much of a chance is there this will go anywhere?
Grassley continued, “Co-mingling her official position as Secretary of State with her family foundation would be similarly inappropriate. It is vital to determine whether the State Department had any role in the threat of an IRS audit against the son of the Prime Minister in retaliation for this investigation.”
Grassley went on to detail how US Ambassadors James Moriarty and Dan Mozena, as well as Jon Danilowica, the Deputy Chief of Mission, met with Wazed in the US Embassy in the Bangladesh capital of Dhaka multiple times while the corruption investigation was ongoing.
While Clinton was Secretary of State, $24 Million went to Yunus Organizations
Yet another US official, Rajiv Shah of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) also met with Wazed. During the time Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State, Shah’s agency awarded $13 million to Yunus organizations and another $11 million to Yunus allied organizations. USAID is under State Department oversight.
The Daily Caller reported “Yunus was stripped of his directorship of the state owned Grameen Bank in 2011 as a result of the Bangladesh government’s review of his financial mismanagement of the bank and its “micro-credit” loan program for poor peasants, mainly women. A $100 million diversion of funds away from Grameen Bank to his other organizations sparked the investigation and eventually he was forced to return the money and resigned.
Yunus has been tight with the Clintons since their Arkansas days, with Bill Clinton even lobbying the Nobel Prize Committee on his behalf. He was awarded to 2006 Nobel Peace Prize, even more of an apparent travesty than the Obama meritless award.
Since 2008 Yunus had been a featured speaker at the Clinton Global Initiative‘s annual meeting. He donated between $100,000-$250,000 to CGI and $25,000-$50,000 to the Clinton Foundation, according to the Clinton Foundation website.
The World Bank unexpectedly rescinded a $1.2 billion loan to Bangladesh in 2012 that was slated for the construction of a vital bridge near Dhaka.
Grassley has some experience with Tillerson’s apparent continuation of the cover up of Clinton crimes by the State Department. He asked in the letter if the matter had been referred to the Department of Justice and “If not, why not?” Hopefully it will be and she’ll finally get the justice that’s eluded her for decades.
