Alabama Senate candidate Judge Roy Moore is the latest to face the Democrat tactic of last minute sexual allegations in order to eliminate a candidate they can’t defeat. Four women…
We’ve seen this same production played out before, when Donald Trump was running for President. The Democrats at that time brought out a parade of women, supposedly from his distant past, who had never had the “courage” to admit what had happened so long ago but somehow all suddenly felt compelled to do so as the race was winding down.
But these accounts in the Washington Post could seem more credible, to the point of being written as if they’re from a high school girl’s diary. Maybe they’ve gotten better at crafting their anti-Republican propaganda with the experience they’ve had beating up on the President. Maybe the stories are true this time around. Their veracity may not matter. This is an allegation of the worst kind for a man with the squeaky clean image of Judge Moore.
It’s a brilliant and despicable play by the globalist Democrats, the only hope they had of preventing a strong conservative from going to the Senate. Then again there’s always the possibility it could be McConnell establishment Republicans behind it all, trying to get their boy Luther back into that seat and willing to roll the dice that he could defeat the Democrat where he couldn’t beat Moore.
The four women who allegedly had encounters with Moore were all sprung on the public at the last minute of the campaign, with a minimal amount of time left to regroup under a different candidate. That part is in accordance with the Democrat Clinton play book run against President Trump. It’s important to remember that the “reporting” was conducted by the notorious Democrat propaganda outlet, the Bezos Washington Post. There can be little doubt of their intent, whether or not the information is true.
Although they are serious allegations, particularly given Judge Moore’s persona, none of them claim to have been raped and in some instances the mothers supposedly were aware of some of the contact. It’s been forty years, people grow up and mature, even thirty year-two-year-old assistant district attorneys.
Moore is fighting the allegations, adamantly stating they are not true and, for all of their efforts behind the scenes in support of the Democrats, the best the Washington Post could produce is a typical “he said, she said.” Moore’s campaign issued a statement strongly asserting their position:
“Judge Roy Moore has endured the most outlandish attacks on any candidate in the modern political arena, but this story in today’s Washington Post alleging sexual impropriety takes the cake. National liberal organizations know their chosen candidate Doug Jones is in a death spiral, and this is their last ditch Hail Mary.
“The Washington Post has already endorsed the Judge’s opponent, and for months, they have engaged in a systematic campaign to distort the truth about the Judge’s record and career and derail his campaign. In fact, just two days ago, the Foundation for Moral Law sent a retraction demand to the Post for the false stories they wrote about the Judge’s work and compensation. But apparently, there is no end to what the Post will allege.
“The Judge has been married to Kayla for nearly 33 years, has 4 children, and 5 grandchildren. He has been a candidate in four hotly-contested statewide political contests, twice as a gubernatorial candidate and twice as a candidate for chief justice. He has been a three-time candidate for local office, and he has been a national figure in two ground-breaking, judicial fights over religious liberty and traditional marriage. After over 40 years of public service, if any of these allegations were true, they would have been made public long before now.
So now the GOP, reeling after the shellacking of establishment candidates by Democrats on Tuesday, faces a tough decision and they need to make it soon. They either stick with Moore, hoping he can survive what could be a crippling blow and that Alabamians stick with him as well or make a sudden, last-ditch change and hope to rally the Moore supporters.
If they opt to switch to a different candidate, do they return to the defeated establishment McConnell lackey, Luther Strange, or go with the defeated Congressman Mo Brooks? Brooks was the choice of many prominent Republicans in the lead up to the runoff election, including Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin and Ann Coulter. Is it simply a matter of the GOP leadership making a decision or is it more complicated? How angry will Moore supporters be if the GOP makes a move?
The race will now surely take on a more tawdry tone and the women involved will be pushed to the forefront in the coming days. A lot can happen in a short period of time but it’s a huge roll of the dice at this point, whatever direction the party chooses. Republican politicians aren’t noted for their courage or their decision making abilities. This is going to get messy.
