Media Frenzied Learning Of Trump “Second Meeting” With Putin During G20 Dinner

Every unfounded fake news media attack and every false report is another potentially damaging frenzy just waiting to become accepted as true. It’s generally best to respond to them early if possible, to dismiss them before they gather steam.

That is what the administration did on Tuesday to the fake news reports that surfaced on Tuesday that there had been a second, previously undisclosed meeting between Presidents Trump and Putin on July 7th at the G20 Summit in Hamburg.

A White House official dismissed those assertions, saying, “There was no ‘second meeting’ between President Trump and President Putin, just a brief conversation at the end of a dinner. The insinuation that the White House has tried to ‘hide’ a second meeting is false, malicious and absurd.”

That same official explained that the Germans were responsible for the seating assignments for the dinner, which had first lady Melania Trump seated next to President Putin. President Trump was seated between the wives of Japanese prime minister Abe and Argentina’s President Macri.

He explained that the dinner had been announced in advance on Mr. Trump’s schedule “with the clear understanding that all visiting leaders would be present. As the dinner was concluding, President Trump went over to Mrs. Trump, where he spoke briefly with President Putin. They used Mr. Putin’s translator.

Since anything the President says, even in private, classified meetings is leaked or eavesdropped upon, it’s probably the only truly secure meeting he’s had with a foreign official since he’s been in office.

Of course CNN’s making a big deal out of the fact that there’s no way for anyone to leak them information and that the President had the nerve not to tell them about it. He doesn’t report to you vultures and as much as Wolf Blitzer or Chuck Todd might not like it, he’s the President. He doesn’t need their permission.
