Meadows and the Freedom Caucus turned up the heat on the House floor, demanding to know why Obama paid $1 million to Fusion GPS and what the FBI and DOJ are covering up…
Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) and several of his fellow members of the House Freedom Caucus gathered Tuesday evening in the chamber for a special order addressing questions of Obama and FBI involvement in the Hillary Clinton Russia collusion and Fusion GPS dossier and Uranium One.
Joining Meadows were Reps Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Jim Jordan (R-OH), Trent Franks (R-AZ), Louis Gohmert (R-TX) and others. The Freedom Caucus members wanted to get the issues on the record and to force the Justice Department and FBI, which are apparently colluding with the previous regime and their holdovers in a cover up of their criminality, to end their obstruction.
They also were attempting to force the reluctant establishment RINOs who are also complicit in or at a minimum improperly tolerant of their corruption into action.
Meadows said, “For the past year, as our government has been mired in a fruitless, aimless, sometimes laborious investigation on accusations of collusion between the Russian government and the 2016 Trump Presidential campaign, my colleagues on the other side of the aisle have insisted that Congress follow where the evidence leads in this investigation.”
Meadows proclaims, “Well, Mr. Speaker, I’m here to tell you today that I agree wholeheartedly, Congress should follow the facts where they lead. However, they’re leading in a very different direction than many of the mainstream media narratives might suggest.”
“You see,” Meadows explained, “in the process of this investigation we have learned of a fact pattern surrounding the Clinton campaign, and potentially the Obama Administration’s involvement in a targeted campaign, using information from foreign intelligence officials against then-candidate Donald Trump.”
He points to a New York Times report that confirmed that “The presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton, Democrat National Committee, paid for research that was included in the now infamous Russian dossier,” noting that Clinton and the DNC using Clinton money purchased the contents of the hit piece from Russian intelligence officials.
Meadows goes on to question how the Obama Justice Department may have inappropriately involved itself in the project, “both before and after the 2016 presidential campaign.” Meadows points out the suspicious timeline between Clinton setting up the Fusion GPS operation through the Soros affiliated Perkins Coie law firm and an unexplained payment to Perkins Coie of almost a million dollars at the same time by the Obama regime.
The seedy interaction between the Clinton campaign, the FBI, the Obama regime, Fusion GPS and Perkins Coie lends the appearance of a conspiracy. Meadows notes the actions of the suspected perpetrators, which included financial transactions and the FBI attempting to reimburse some of the dossier costs.
Meadows wants the FBI to come clean and asks four questions that demand immediate attention:
“Why did ‘president’ Obama’s campaign begin paying almost a million dollars to the very same firm that the Clinton campaign used to fund the dossier in the very same month that the Clinton campaign began paying for the dossier?”
Why did ‘president’ Obama’s FBI attempt to pay Christopher Steele for the Russian Dossier? Why was President Obama’s FBI involved in paying for a project that the Clinton campaign was orchestrating?
Why brief the President at all on the dossier if much of the dossier could not be verified? Or, I would suggest that if President Obama’s intelligence officials had reason to treat the dossier seriously, why did they wait two months after the election to disclose the information on January 6th? Why wait?
Why was the President’s meeting with President-elect Trump leaked to CNN four days after the briefing if, again, the dossier could not be verified?
Meadows says, “The point is to recognize that there are legitimate, unanswered questions about whether the Obama Justice Department involved themselves in a political project targeting then-candidate Donald Trump, a suggestion that has far more evidence behind it than the directionless investigation into the Trump – Russian collusion.”
He closes saying, “The American people deserve an answer to those questions, they demand answers to those questions and it’s our government’s responsibility to find them.”
We’ve been demanding for a long time. The problem is that, aside from the Freedom Caucus, everyone else is turning a deaf ear, deliberately.
