North Korea has fired yet another ballistic missile in the direction of Japan, with an overnight launch. Sanctions and pressure have failed to dissuade their aggression and it
Kim Jong-un has done it again. Another ballistic missile was fired in the direction of Japan overnight, this one coming down in Japanese waters after flying for approximately 50 minutes.
The 3:30 am launch originated in Pyongson, in North Korea’s South Pyongan Province. South Korea responded with its own missile exercise afterwards. The US territory of Guam also confirmed the launch, stating that it posed no threat to the island.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders advised via tweet that President Trump had been “briefed while missile was still in the air, on the situation with North Korea.”
South Korean officials advised on Tuesday that they had activated rocket-tracking radar at one of their northern bases and that there was a large amount of radio chatter.
North Korea has conducted 15 missile tests this year and has demonstrated it has the ability to not only strike its neighbors in the region but will soon be capable, if it is not already, of a nuclear attack on most of the US mainland.
Sanctions and pressure from the US, the UN and North Korea’s allies, including China and Russia seem to have had little impact on the North Korea missile program and the options for dealing with the rogue regime now seem to be edging towards only two.
Either the United States and the rest of the world accepts being at the mercy of this hostile, predatory nation or military action will be required – and soon. It’s now very likely that the US goes ahead with an appropriate action to eliminate this threat. This first option of submission is unacceptable.
