The House Intelligence Committee is now investigating former Secretary of State John Kerry’s possible connection with the Steele dossier. They have, for over a month now, been in the second phase of an investigation into the inception, construction and use of the dossier. It’s unlikely Kerry was doing anything without Obama’s full knowledge and approval, so it’s significant in more ways than one.

Sara Carter reports that questions emerged in February about possible Kerry involvement. That same month, a long-time Kerry crony and former envoy to Libya named Jonathan Winer, wrote a preemptive defensive op-ed  in the Washington Post. In it Winer acknowledged his relationship with Steele and defending the dossier.

Winer sounding as if he were responding to a prosecutor’s questions, attempting to remove potential explosive revelations and establish the narrative so all involved could get their stories straight. He wrote, “in 2013, I returned to the State Department at the request of Secretary of State John F. Kerry, whom I had previously served as Senate counsel.”

He said, “in late September, I spoke with an old friend, Sidney Blumenthal, whom I met 30 years ago when I was investigating the Iran-contra affair for then-Sen. Kerry and Blumenthal was a reporter at The Post. At the time, Russian hacking was at the front and center in the 2016 presidential campaign. The emails of Blumenthal, who had a long association with Bill and Hillary Clinton, had been hacked in 2013 through a Russian server.”

Winer continued, “While talking about that hacking, Blumenthal and I discussed Steele’s reports. He showed me notes gathered by a journalist I did not know, Cody Shearer, that alleged the Russians had compromising information on Trump of a sexual and financial nature.”

Carter notes that in September of 2016 Steele briefed Winer on the dossier at a DC Hotel. Winer then took that information, prepared a summary and shared it with former Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland and Jon Finer, who was then John Kerry’s chief of staff. Kerry was then briefed by Finer.

It is suspected that one of those receiving a letter with ten questions on it was Kerry, and that he may well be in the number that Rep Nunes stated have “went dark” and failed to respond. If so, he can expect a subpoena, as Nunes has stated that will be the result as recently as a Monday interview on Fox News.

One question that may be the cause of some hesitation on the part of Kerry, aside from his own involvement, is one asking if Hussein Obama was aware of the contents of the dossier prior to Jan. 5, 2017.

Winer also revealed in his op-ed that he contacted the field marshal for the US-led Ukrainian regime change, infamous for her “f*ck the EU” comments picked up and recorded at the time, Victoria Nuland. He shared portions of the products of Steele’s writing with her, including what would become the dossier.

In an appearance on Face the Nation, Nuland does appear to be a little nervous and much less foul mouthed as she laid her own defensive narrative to throw Nunes’ hounds off the trail or lessen the impact of what she knows may be coming.

She acknowledged her involvement with Steele, but characterized it as minimal and insignificant, and that she is a morally upstanding patriot. She said, “[Steele] passed two to four pages of short points of what he was finding, and our immediate reaction to that was, ‘This is not in our purview.

This needs to go to the FBI if there is any concern here that one candidate or the election as a whole might be influenced by the Russian Federation. That’s something for the FBI to investigate.”

She was partially right. It’s something to be investigated but not by her cronies at the FBI. The House Intel Committee is looking into it and Nuland, along with her fellow “guilty acting” comrade and John Kerry are going to be part of it.

  1. the DEEPER THEY DIG, THE DARKER IT GETS.
the Clinton’s are a COUPLE FROM HELL AND SO IS THE MUSLIM FRAUD.
for anyone to say THE MUSLIM FRAUD DIDN’T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON IS INSANE.
HE AND THE CLINTON’S ARE UP TO THEIR CRIMINAL AND TREASONOUS NECKS IN THIS.

  2. I’m guessing that they will all have the same responses when subpoenaed. “I do not recall”, “I was not privy to that information”.
