Iran is once again part of an embassy takeover story, but this time it’s their embassy that has been seized by radical Islamic terrorists and their citizens being held hostage. The…
It’s been thirty-eight years since a mob of Iranian “students” seized the US embassy in Tehran and took the Americans inside captive, holding them for 444 days. Karma sometimes takes a while to make its way back around but today it paid the Iranians a well-deserved visit, coming to their own embassy in London.
Four men have forced their way onto the Iranian embassy with only baseball bats and machetes as weapons. London police have been deployed to the site. Slogans chanted by the attackers indicate they are radical Islamists of the Sadeq Shirazi Shiite sect. The Iranian Fars News service reports that that group is supported by London, whose Mayor Khan is also a jihadi.
The Iranian Ambassador to Britain, Hamid Baeedinejad, confirmed the attack. He tweeted, “A few followers of Shirazi have attacked the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Embassy in London and broke the flag mast.” He noted that they were “chanting slogans against Iranian officials.” It seems that the regime’s “death to America” tactic can be modified for use in other situations.
The Shirazi sect that has been labeled as “British Shiism” by the Iranian Supreme Leader and operates mainly from London. They also operate a satellite network called ‘Fadak’ from London which promotes Shiite extremism against Sunni Islam. There’s nothing like importing terrorists to complicate and degrade a nation’s society.
Spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Bahram Qassemi, told FNA that “we are investigating into the case and will keep in contact with the Iranian embassy in London and the British embassy in Tehran”.
He added, “The British government is duty-bound to seriously and decisively fulfill its responsibility to protect the Islamic Republic of Iran’s diplomats and diplomatic centers and immediately arrest and prosecute those who have trespassed the diplomatic sanctuary.”
Do you mean kind of like the way Iran was duty-bound to protect the hostages back in ’79, Qassemi? They could be there for a long time and you’d have nothing but increasingly evident hypocrisy as a foundation for your arguments.
The London embassy was also targeted for a politically motivated attack by other Arabs back in 1980 and held for six days. As long as they’re going to continue to be a sponsor of terrorism around the globe, they might want to expend a little more effort on embassy security; or perhaps not.
