Judicial Watch Obtains 29 Pages Of FBI Tarmac Docs They Were Told Didn’t Exist

FBI officials lied on a FOIA response to Judicial Watch by denying the Clinton Lynch tarmac documents existed. Now they’ve got their hands on the 29 pages, showing a cover up

Judicial Watch released on Thursday 29 pages of documents they sued for and finally obtained from the reluctant and obstructive FBI, which they were originally told did not exist. If someone told the FBI a similar falsehood they’d be looking at prison. The FBI is not held to those same standards.

Once DOJ documents were turned over to Judicial Watch that indicated they had exchanged correspondence with the FBI their own documents magically appeared, at least a portion of them. They relate to the tarmac meeting between their leader, AG Loretta Lynch and the husband of the subject of their spurious investigation, Bill Clinton.

What is evident is that the level of concern and the response at the FBI was greatest in the area of suppressing public knowledge of the encounter. The fact that it was inappropriate was less of an issue than the potential damage to their public charade to protect Hillary Clinton. The habitual leaker James Comey had a real concern with them at this juncture.

The documents also indicate that James Comey learned of the meeting from news reports, as legitimate as that might or might not be. He’d be able to claim plausible deniability to some degree based upon that foundation of evidence, if matters came to that.

The documents show one area of concern for the FBI centered on a leak of information that Bill Clinton had delayed the departure of  his aircraft in order to put himself into position to meet with Lynch. A story in the Observer based upon that information prompted one or more FBI officials to write “we need to find that guy.”

The Phoenix FBI office was contacted “in an attempt to stem any further damage.” One FBI official, who was part of the Lynch security detail, suggested ordering non-disclosure agreements for those present or otherwise involved in the illicit meeting.

There’s nothing like your top law enforcement agency being in the business of protecting their superiors from the consequences of their criminal or inappropriate actions by hiding the evidence from the American people to prove that your nation is in serious trouble.

The documents are of less value than they could have been, given that the names of the authors of the emails were all redacted and none of the documents indicated any concern over the actual meeting itself.

Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton commented, “These new FBI documents show the FBI was more concerned about a whistleblower who told the truth about the infamous Clinton-Lynch tarmac meeting than the scandalous meeting itself. The documents show the FBI worked to make sure no more details of the meeting would be revealed to the American people.”

He notes that it’s now understandable why the FBI was attempting to hide the documents from Judicial Watch until they were busted withholding them. He says the documents confirm the need to reopen the Clinton investigation, which, by extension means we need to find an Attorney General who isn’t compromised.

As things are now, no government criminal will be prosecuted. They have all been left alone for the first year of the Trump administration and of the tenure of AG Sessions. We have no reason to expect anything to change as long as he and Rod Rosenstein maintain their ability to obstruct through abuse of their power.

  1. Judicial Watch are one of the only watch dogs trying to hold this corrupt government accountable. They could lay out the entire case with evidence and the DOJ, FBI, still would ignore it.

  2. I’ve said it before and now I’ll say it again: Maggots do not eat their own. And our government is chock-full of slimy maggots.
