A judge has ordered the former British spy, Christopher Steele, who has been attempting to evade justice in London, to provide a deposition detailing the evolution and basis for…
Former British spy Christopher Steele is having a hard time covering up his interactions with the Obama regime, Clinton campaign, deep state DOJ, FBI and State Department and members of the judiciary in assisting them in targeting President Trump for elimination.
The author of the infamous Steele dossier has now been ordered by a British court to appear for a deposition in a lawsuit filed in the US.
Russian businessman Aleksej Gubarev is suing BuzzFeed in Florida and Steele in London after being named in the dossier by Steele in what Gubarev claims is a false and defamatory manner. The dossier claims that Gubarev was recruited as a Russian spy and that his web hosting companies were used to infiltrate the DNC’s computer systems.
There is no known factual basis for those claims so discovering how they came about is critical in determining the culpability of parties involved, the extent of the criminality and the appropriate response.
Attorneys for Gubarev have been trying for months to force Steele to provide a deposition for the Florida lawsuit against BuzzFeed. Steele has refused to this point but will now be forced to talk. His basis for refusing to provide Gubarev with a deposition in the BuzzFeed suit was the irrational argument that the same information could be used against him in London.
Facts are facts. Why should he expect the British judiciary to help him use the borders as a means of escaping accountability and immunity from the truth?
He shouldn’t. A judge on the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court in London ruled to that effect, declaring, “it is obvious that the author of the paragraph complained of in the Florida proceedings would be a relevant witness in defamation proceedings which are entirely based on the allegations in that paragraph, in a jurisdiction where the plaintiffs have to prove that the allegations are false.”
Evan Fray-Witzer, Gubarev’s attorney, was pleased with the decision, saying, “We’re thrilled that the English Court has ordered Mr. Steele to sit for his deposition. It was always amazing to us that he could talk as freely as he has to reporters around the world about the dossier, yet refuse to sit for a deposition about the same topics.”
The deposition is to take place within 4-6 weeks although Steele will not be compelled to reveal the identities of the individuals from which the suspect information was allegedly obtained. Steele had alleged that revealing those sources could put them in danger.
In crafting his dark fairy tale, it appears that Mr. Steele chose the wrong person to cast as one of the villains and was a little too free with the accusations. Things should get interesting around the first of May.
