The deep state fortress that is the US State Department got a bit of a smack down with the decision by DC District Court Judge Amit Mehta. He instructed the agency to search in the one place it hasn’t for Hillary Clinton and her co-conspirators’ Benghazi emails. The logical location where there likely are incriminating documents.
In their apparently deliberate attempt to be able to say they’ve searched Benghazi related emails and found nothing, State Department officials searched the 30,000 emails that Clinton turned over to them in December of 2014, as well as personal email accounts of her fellow criminals, Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills and Jake Sullivan. They thoroughly searched the most unlikely places, where they knew for a fact that nothing of any substance would be found.
The crooked Clinton associates surely made certain there were no records of interest in any of those locations, nothing that could implicate them. Judge Mehta was not fooled by the diversion. Despite being an Obama appointee, he ordered that the State Department search their own system, something that should have been the first place checked and would have been, if John Kerry and company weren’t engaged in a deliberate, full scale cover up.
Responding to a Judicial Watch lawsuit, Judge Mehta stated, “Secretary Clinton used a private email server, located in her home, to transmit and receive work-related communications during her tenure as Secretary of State. [State] has not, however, searched the one records system over which it has always had control and that is almost certain to contain some responsive records: the state.gov email server.”
He said that the State Department “has offered no assurance” that the records it has received so far from Clinton and the trio of aides “constitute the entirely of Secretary Clinton’s emails during the time period relevant to Plaintiff’s FOIA request.”
Tom Fitton, President of Judicial Watch, responded to the favorable ruling, saying, “This major court ruling may finally result in more answers about the Benghazi scandal — and Hillary Clinton’s involvement in it — as we approach the attack’s fifth anniversary.
He noted, “It is remarkable that we had to battle both the Obama and Trump administrations to break through the State Department’s Benghazi stonewall. Why are Secretary Tillerson and Attorney General Sessions wasting taxpayer dollars protecting Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration?”
Those are all excellent questions, Mr. Fitton. Hopefully your FOIA responses will eventually provide us with some sort of explanation. Unfortunately, it is beginning to appear that some pressures are being exerted on the Trump administration to prevent them from acting or that “drain the swamp” was just a catchy campaign slogan and little more.
No definitive action in that regard can be seen and swamp creatures such as HR McMaster, Dina Habib Powell and Gary Cohn continue to dwell and multiply inside the administration. One thing is certain, under Tillerson and Sessions, the water level hasn’t dropped an inch despite the promises and the vermin continue to roam about like they own the place. Maybe they do.
