Rep Jordan will vote against the betrayal that is the spending bill, once again being forced upon us at the last minute, under the threat of a govt shutdown. It’s the worst bill he’s…
Rep Jim Jordan is upset with the bill that the uniparty leadership of the House and Senate have put together in private, dumped in their laps, and told them they’ve got 48 hours or less to either go along with the establishment program or be an inconsequential “no” vote. [[WATCH VIDEO BELOW]]
He’s asked what he doesn’t like about it, the size of the bill or what the money is being spent on. That’s an easy one, the answer is both. He says, “And it’s not even close to what we told the American people we were going to do. So it’s not just conservatives who don’t like this bill, the American people, when they find out what’s in it and that’s going to take a while.”
He says, “We just got it twelve hours ago and we’re going to vote on it here in a few hours, and it’s 2,200 pages that fund sanctuary cities, funds Planned Parenthood, restricts Second Amendment liberties and grows the government at a $1.3 trillion price tag on this legislation, which will lead to a trillion dollar deficit.”
He remarks, “Now I don’t think the American people said, ‘Oh, let’s put Republicans in control of Congress’ to do a bill like this. This is, this may be the worst bill I have seen in my time in Congress, the worst bill our leadership has ever allowed to come to the floor.”
Brian Kilmeade claims Ryan and McConnell have no choice because they have to compromise with Democrats. Jordan replies, “The American people didn’t elect Democrats to control the United States Congress, they elected Republicans.”
He points out that there is funding for the Gateway boondoggle but not for the border wall, saying, “I mean the one thing we don’t fund is the one issue we all campaigned on, a border security wall, and that is not in the legislation. So it can’t get any worse than this bill. We should stop, we should go back to the drawing board. If we have to do a short-term funding bill, do that. But go back and do something consistent with what the voters elected us to do.”
Kilmeade again defends the bill, raising the fact that the military got everything they asked for. Jordan is in favor of that spending, it’s the rest of it, the wasteful, wrongheaded spending, and the size, the fact that we’re borrowing so much money that will somehow have to be paid back that concerns him.
Jordan points out that back in January they were poised to win the debate after Chuck Schumer shut down the government. The uniparty would have none of that so instead of having the battle at the time and winning on the merits, they delayed and their corrupt leadership engineered this surrender.
Jordan says President Trump is supporting this bill because it’s the only bill that has been put in front of him. If he’s given a good bill to sign he’d be all over it. He says, “Let’s not bring the worst bill I’ve seen in my ten years in Congress to the floor of the House today. Let’s put something good in front of the President that’s consistent with what the American people elected us to do.”
