Rep Jim Jordan knows that Goodlatte and Gowdy are slow-walking witnesses despite their complaints to the contrary and Ryan is owned by big money. A Dem-friendly spending…
Lou Dobbs begins his interview with Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH) with the enormous effort to spin the firing of Andrew McCabe by the left into something where the crime was in punishing a subversive criminal. Dobbs describes McCabe as “attacking the President and taking on a Comey-like sanctimonious posture, ignoring the fact that the Office of Professional Responsibility recommended his firing.” [[WATCH VIDEO BELOW]]
Jordan agrees, “It was the FBI itself who recommended Andrew McCabe be fired.” He runs down the list of numerous top FBI officials who have been fired or demoted, saying, “That’s the problem. That’s why we’ve said for so long you have to have a second special counsel to look at all of this. And so, McCabe was leaking information, just like James Comey, and just like James Clapper.”
“That is the problem,” says Jordan, “and that’s why it was recommended that he be terminated.” Dobbs points to an op-ed by Jonathan Turley highlighting the conflicting statements under oath by Comey with what was said by McCabe in his public statement following his firing. McCabe had vowed to take everybody else down with him, so perhaps that was a signal to Comey that his threat was serious.
Jordan calls for the release of the documents that Congress has been seeking from DOJ, and for them to not be in a useless, redacted form, noting the statement on Sunday by Chairman Bob Goodlatte of the House Judiciary Committee that he would subpoena those documents in the very near future if the DOJ stonewalling continues.
Dobbs notes that Trey Gowdy and Bob Goodlatte have “slow-walked twenty witnesses that they proffered themselves in their investigation of corruption at DOJ and the FBI and they have embarked on this peculiar campaign of slow-walking and fast talking that I think should be embarrassing to the Republican conference and to the House itself.”
Jordan agrees that they haven’t interviewed a witness in two and a half months, “that is a problem.” He then says, “The good news is both chairmen have called for a second special counsel, as you and I and many others have been calling for for months. I don’t like special counsels but I see no other remedy because the FBI can’t investigate itself.”
Jordan says that he expects either the subpoenas or the withheld documents to be forthcoming this week.
He talks about the upcoming funding bill and how it, as usual, gives the Democrats everything they want and only minimally meets the demands of Republicans and conservatives, and includes no border wall funding.”
Dobbs points out, “And apparently Speaker Ryan insisting on funding sanctuary cities as well while not funding the wall. He’s in direct conflict with the President of the United States, and I just can’t understand who he’s working for if it’s not the Chamber of Commerce and the Business Roundtable.”
Of course Dobbs knows that’s exactly who Ryan represents, and the DC Swamp establishment.
