John McCain Tests Reveal Brain Cancer – He’s Reviewing His Options

john mccain

Now the time has arrived for John McCain to make his exit from the United States Senate. His medical condition is worse than was originally reported but the tests have now come come back and McCain is seriously ill with brain cancer.

According to a report in the Washington Times, the Arizona Republican has been diagnosed with brain cancer. The revelation was contained in a statement released Wednesday evening by Mayo Clinic. The cancer was discovered following surgery last week to remove a blood clot from above his left eye.

McCain has a history of melanoma, an aggressive skin cancer that can spread to the brain and cause bleeding. That cancer history could have prompted Mr. McCain’s doctors to scan his brain even in the absence of symptoms. Whatever prompted the discovery of the clot, it was removed through surgery into his skull. The tissue sample taken from the surgery was submitted for testing, those results now revealing the presence of cancer.

The Mayo Clinic statement said, “Subsequent tissue pathology revealed that a primary brain tumor known as a glioblastoma was associated with the blood clot.”.

McCain’s office said, “The senator’s overall health is fine and he is ‘recovering from his surgery amazingly well. The Senator and his family are reviewing further treatment options with the Mayo Clinic care team. Treatment options may include a combination of chemotherapy and radiation.”

It would now be impossible for his to continue in his current office, with the possibility of his judgment, however suspect it has been throughout his Senate career, now completely in question and every action subject to second guessing as to his possible impairment.

Get your treatment, Senator, and resign from your seat in the Senate. Do it for your own health and for the good of the nation.  There can only be one correct decision in this instance.

Sad isn’t it, pride goeth before the fall. Just pray for him. He may choose to use the same experimental and successful treatment that Jimmy Carter used to eliminate his brain cancer, albeit I don’t believe Jimmy’s was as virulent as McCain’s. The Lord gives and the Lord taketh away.

    Amen Shirley

  3. I read an article this morning in the Arizona Daily Sun where McCain had stated that ‘I will be back’. I know him well after spending 45 years in Arizona that his arrogance will not allow him to give up his post. He will not be able to represent the people of AZ or the country in any capacity but he will be willing to ignore that to stay in his glorified position. He will not give it up unless the Republicans can push it which they won’t because they would look bad, but forget the people and any representation.

John McCain’s actions and his anti-American speech for about the past year have been proof that something with this man was not right. Of course even when he was young he betrayed our Country and the other men who were incarcerated at the same time during the Vietnam War. I don’t wish pain and suffering on anyone.

I don’t think he’s been happy for a long time, and he was irked that he lost the election, but his attitude was so obvious that people stayed home. Let’s pray he makes the right decision, gets treatment, resigns and goes home to his family. Andy Biggs would be a wonderful appointment for the rest of his term.

Ted Kennedy hung in there for quite a long time after his diagnosis of Brain Cancer…
If you recall he came in to vote to be SURE that Obamacare got his vote and was successfully foisted off on the people of this country and he was in a wheelchair he was so close to the end of his days in this incarnation.

McCain is not a happy man, never has been. His actions and attitude reflect the chaos that boils inside his heart. Fear and anger inside means that it is most of what you see on the outside.

  7. It would be nice if the Arizona governor could appoint a decent human being to replace him. The sooner the better.

I know where he would need to go for treatment…but I’m not going to tell him….he is a Traitor in my book…

    God is Great! Schadenfreude!

  10. I would never wish something like that on anybody, but I did have a feeling. As I’m sure many others did. Please, Senator, resign your post and be with your family. You’ll probably find that doctors aren’t perfect, cancer treatments are hell, and life is worth every second you can spend with loved ones. Take care, and may God have mercy.

As Christians, we are to pray for our enemies, and many of us have seen McCain as an enemy, a Manchurian candidate, a traitor, and a Democrat in Republican drag. But our God wants none to perish. So, we are to pray for him to draw closer to the Lord and come to saving grace. Having said this, I think of Ted Kennedy and his brain cancer. I also think that the Lord has timing that is perfect. God be with John as he faces this…it is not anything anyone should have to face. And yes, time to retire, treat your illness and spend time with family. Will he do that? We shall see.

    • Kelleigh, Thank you for your eloquent reply to this post. I happen to share your beliefs as well. This night, McCain gets a bye and I will pray for his recovery with him at his home with his family.
