Tax returns for 2017 lacking Obamacare coverage info won’t be accepted and fines will be steep for those without insurance, $2,433 for two adults with 3…
A lot more Americans are going to really be wishing that the Republicans had repealed Obamacare when tax time rolls around next year. A new IRS policy being implemented will result in returns that have not stated whether or not the taxpayers have insurance not being processed and implement huge Democrat mandated fines, a minimum of $2,432.50 for a family of three.
The Internal Revenue Service announced the change for 2017 in an online notice sent out to tax professionals. It stated, ” the IRS will not accept electronically filed tax returns where the taxpayer does not address the health coverage requirements of the Affordable Care Act.”
“Returns filed on paper failing to address the health coverage requirements face suspension until the information is received. Any refunds due will be delayed,” the IRS stated.
At issue is the question of whether the filer had health insurance coverage during the year and we now see why the IRS was selected as the enforcement mechanism for Obamacare. For many Americans it’s going to boil down to a decision to take less or nothing at all.
The Democrat socialist machine keeps right on chugging along, even under President Trump, in its current configuration incorporated into the “Affordable” Care Act. The amount of confiscated cash to be redistributed to others by those failing to obey is significant. At $695 per adult and $348 per child or 2.5 percent of the adjusted gross household income, whichever is greater, it’s not chump change.
In attempting to justify the “individual mandate,” the obscene wealth confiscation forced upon supposedly free Americans by Democrats alone, without a single Republican vote, the IRS said, “Taxpayers remain obligated to follow the law and pay what they may owe at the point of filing.”
Only Obama and Clinton can declare themselves to be above the law. Citizen slaves are expected to do as they are commanded.
In filing their returns, taxpayers who mark their return as not having had health insurance coverage during the year are then required to indicate on what grounds they failed to comply. If their last name is not Obama or Clinton, or if they can’t claim one of the other exemptions, penalties are imposed.
The other exemptions include: lacking access to affordable health coverage, being homeless, getting evicted, experiencing domestic violence, experiencing the death of a family member and filing for bankruptcy, something this new policy will help to make a reality for many more Americans.
