It’s the kind of thing they might have been better served to keep a lid on until it was completed, a planned crackdown on illegal alien gang members in the US targeting those ages 16 and 17.
Beginning Sunday through Wednesday of next week, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents will conduct nationwide raids focusing primarily on teenagers who entered the country illegally, without guardians and who are believed to be gang members.
Under Obama gang members were just illegals and enjoyed the same hands-off, preferential treatment. Many of the crimes that Americans would be prosecuted for, such as felony fraud and identity theft, were treated differently when perpetrated by an illegal, as a lesser offense or not prosecuted at all.
That’s not how President Trump intends to conduct immigration enforcement and increasingly he’s coming back to his no-nonsense enforcement posture he was elected on. ICE released a statement saying that individuals will be considered gang members through their tattoos, frequenting locations known for gang member gathering or wearing gang apparel.
A memo instructing field offices to make preparations for the raids, dated June 30th was leaked, with a DHS official speaking off the record confirming on Friday that the raids were still scheduled.
They play a clip of President Trump in a speech, saying, “You have a gang called MS-13. They don’t like to shoot people. They like to cut people. They do things that nobody can believe,” Trump said at a rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa last month. Trump promised in a speech in May that the gang would be “gone from our streets very soon, believe me.”
Having the effect of encouraging minors to travel alone and making them vulnerable to exploitation and pressure to join gangs, US immigration law has been interpreted to consider minors arriving at the border without a parent or guardian as particularly vulnerable, granting them automatic passage to residency under HHS, most often with a family member, also illegal, living in the United States.
That has been the Obama system of encouraging foreign invasion. It is now beginning to be reversed by President Trump. Of course any deviation from open borders or return to the enforcement of our laws is met with outrage and outcries by the open borders invasion lobbyists.
Marielena Hincapie, executive director of the National Immigration Law Center in Los Angeles, said the databases often contain inaccurate information, as if that is reason to scuttle the whole program and ignore the law. She said, “This is troubling on several levels. For one, the gang databases in places like California are rife with errors. We have seen babies labeled as potential gang members.”
More excuses were offered by immigration lawyer David Leopold who complained that innocent children could be swept up in the raids. He said, “In many cases, children don’t freely decide to join a gang. They are threatened by older gang members and forced to get a gang tattoo if they live in a certain neighborhood.”
The part he neglects to mention is that the tattoo makes them a gang member and they go on from that point to be forced to commit crimes. Hussein Obama put them in that situation, President Trump is helping them out of it.
Additionally, the raids allegedly will also target illegal adults who brought their children with them and have been ordered deported by a judge as well as illegals who entered as unaccompanied minors and have since turned 18.
The Reuters reporter whines that enforcement isn’t fair. Too bad, lady. It’s less than unfair for Americans who have lost loved ones to these gang members or any of the foreigners who are in our nation in violation of our laws. Life isn’t fair, if it were, we’d all be professional athletes and irresistible to the opposite sex. Until then, quit your whining.
