ICE Dir Homan put California on notice, their declaration as a sanctuary state means a lot more of his officers will be on their streets, and officials face possible arrest for violating
Acting ICE Director Thomas Homan addresses the problem of scofflaw sanctuary cities and the State of California, which their criminal leadership has just declared to be a sanctuary state.
Homan warns California will now see an increased presence of ICE officers necessitated by their refusal to comply and cooperate with federal officers engaged in the performance of their duties.
Asked by Neil Cavuto what he thinks about California’s decision, Homan says, “I think it’s terrible. You’ve got the State of California that wants to put politics ahead of public safety, ahead of officer safety.”
He continues, “What they’ve done is force my officers to arrest dangerous criminals on their turf, in their homes and in their place of business rather than arresting them in the safety and security of a county jail. It’s ridiculous to knowingly and intentionally put law enforcement at risk and the communities themselves put at risk.”
Homan says, “When you release a public safety threat back into the public, it’s just a foolish decision they’ve made.” Homan says that if Gov Brown and the other crooked California officials think ICE is going away, they’re mistaken. He puts them on notice, saying, “I am going to significantly increase our enforcement presence in California, we’re already doing it.”
“California better hold on tight,” says Homan, “they’re about to see a lot more special agents, a lot more deportation officers.” He adds, “If the politicians in California don’t want to protect their communities, then ICE will.” Homan says that the street cops are totally against the sanctuary state legislation. This was a political decision without thought being given to the victims.
He cautions that “the smuggling organizations are using this sanctuary state law as a selling ploy, more illegal aliens will be coming to California. More criminal aliens will be coming to California. So California just bit off a lot more than they can chew.
He’s also asked the DOJ to review whether or not the officials involved in not holding the illegal aliens are violating federal law by knowingly harboring and shielding illegal aliens, a known safety threat. More citizens are going to die because of these policies and those officials responsible need to be held personally accountable.
