Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) isn’t simply asking for the present special prosecutor, the dirty cop Robert Mueller to add the Uranium One racketeering scandal to his “witch hunt to do” list, he wants another special counsel, a real one that doesn’t represent the Democrats.
Grassley, the veteran politician, is asked what made him think we need a special counsel for the Clinton Russia collusion matter. He replied in terms that would be difficult for a Democrat to challenge. Grassley said, “Well, obviously there was and is justification for a special counsel, Russia Vs Trump.”
He continued, “Now we’ve got problems with the previous administration. It seems to me that there are so many people within the Justice Department that maybe have conflicts of interest, that I asked for a special counsel in regard to the investigations of Russia Vs the Obama and Clinton involvements with Uranium One.”
Asked if he doesn’t trust Robert Mueller to investigate the matter, Grassley replied diplomatically, if not honestly, “It’s not a case of trusting Mueller for what he can investigate in things that he’s independent of but there might be reasons to wonder his involvement because of his involvement with the previous administration during this period of time.”
In other words, the same kind of conflict of interest that the crooked political hacks and dirty cops who saddled us with Mueller ignored are now being given their proper weight by Grassley, particularly in light of his likely criminal involvement. Grassley says, “There’s no way I can make any accusations against Mr. Mueller [yet] because he is a man of [exaggerated] high ethical standards.”
“But on the other hand,” he says, “I think that when there’s all of these questions and special counsels are being used and particularly where there might be some criminal, fraudulent, money laundering activities, we ought to have the same considerations for the independence that Mueller gives to the independence of whether or not there was Russian influence in our elections.” What’s good for the Russian goose is good for the gander.
Grassley is looking forward to being able to question the FBI informant, who apparently has had his life threatened by Russian agents. He reveals that AG Sessions is still not being as forthcoming as we were led to believe he was, as only a staff attorney from the Judiciary Committee will be allowed to question him.
Grassley seems partially satisfied with that at this point but one has to wonder just what it is that Sessions is so determined to keep out of the public eye. He says he wants to know why they can’t have him before the full committee, an indication he’s still addressing it.
Revealing the fact that he shares our skepticism of the DOJ, FBI sincerity, Grassley said,”This is quite a move on the part of people that we thought were maybe trying to cover up things within the bureaucracy of Justice or FBI, that now that we have this informant being able to speak a little bit, then we’ll get more information, draw more conclusions later on.”
Certainly there will be many conclusions drawn later on, many of them involving the criminal guilt of high ranking Obama regime officials.
