Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is threatening retribution against the United Nations and those nations which voted against Israel in the UN Security Council on Friday.
Graham warned in a written statement, “If the United Nations moves forward with the ill-conceived resolution, I will work to form a bipartisan coalition to suspend or significantly reduce United States assistance to the United Nations.” Graham was aware of the betrayal in the works by the Pro-Islam Obama regime, and felt compelled to warn those who might choose to align themselves with the outgoing lame duck of the consequences of their actions.
Israel’s UN envoy, Danny Danon, had urged Washington to veto the resolution, which was clearly not going to happen. He said, “This is an anti-Israeli resolution spearheaded by Palestinians, the entire purpose of which is to hurt Israel. We call on the US to stand by us and expect our greatest ally to stick to its long-standing position and to veto the decision.” That greatest ally is led by a Judas, so they were betrayed. He added, “We say again to the members of the Security Council: No solution will be advanced by UN resolutions, but only through direct negotiations.” The point is to demonize and to formally establish a point of invalidity to the settlements, that is what Obama accomplished.
Four members of the Security Council — New Zealand, Malaysia, Senegal and Venezuela — did the bidding of the Obama regime and others aligned against Israel. French Ambassador Francois Delattre told reporters, “The key goal that we have here is to preserve and reaffirm the two-state solution,” echoing the propaganda being spewed by Ben Rhodes on the part of the White House.
“The text that we have does not exclusively focus on settlements. It also condemns the violence and terrorism. It also calls to prevent all incitement from the Palestinian side so this is a balanced text.” What it provides is an ability to claim it is a balanced text for those who seek to shelter themselves accordingly.
The draft resolution demands that “Israel immediately and completely cease all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.” It further states that Israeli settlements have “no legal validity” and are “dangerously imperiling the viability of the two-state solution” that would see an independent Palestine co-exist alongside Israel.
There is no ambiguity or shared responsibility implicit or stated in that language. It’s an anti-settlement, anti-Israeli resolution, period. It was put forward with the blessing of the Obama White House as an assault on Israel.
It’s a strong argument to the illegitimacy of the UN and Graham may well pickup sufficient traction to get the United States on the path to freeing ourselves and our Israeli allies from the shackles of the sinister globalist institution, the UN. If that is the result, then perhaps there is a silver lining to this action by the Obama regime as another international action on their part turns to their latest foreign policy disaster.
