Rep Louie Gohmert isn’t about to let Rod Rosenstein get away with playing dumb or acting like he isn’t intimately involved in the shenanigans going on at DOJ. He beings his questioning of the crooked deputy AG by noting his attempts in response to other members’ questions to put the blame elsewhere by claiming it was before his time or an action by an underling.

Gohmert points out for Rodenstein that in earlier testimony he was emphatic in stating that he’s the head of the Department of Justice, and as such he’s responsible for the actions of his subordinates. He also establishes that Rosenstein approved the FISA application to spy on Carter Page although he didn’t read it. Gohmert notes, “You’re parsing words. So that doesn’t mean you need to read it, in your opinion. Is that correct?”

The exchange deteriorates under the deception of Rosenstein with Gohmert moving on to the topic of Bruce Ohr, asking Rosenstein, “Did you not know that Bruce Ohr was meeting with Christopher Steele, getting information about the dossier and supplying that information to the FBI at the same time his wife Nellie was working for Fusion GPS that was helping Hillary Clinton? Did you not know he was doing that for the FBI?” Gohmert might have asked how a mere reassignment or demotion is sufficient punishment for acts of treason or subversion.

Gohmert finds it difficult to believe that Ohr’s office was just a couple of doors down but he “had no idea he was actually the go-between to get that information.” Gohmert asks, “So when did you find out about that?” Rather than answer the question, Rosenstein runs for the familiar cover of the Inspector General, saying that he’s conducting an investigation, his favored excuse for refusing to answer.

Rosenstein then tap dances back and forth in an explanation of what they talk about and don’t talk about with FISA warrants, as if that somehow has an impact on whether or not he could state when he learned of the coup activities by Ohr, which was the question he’s successfully dodging.

  1. It would seem that ALL of our government employees are out of touch with “The Civil Rules of Procedure”. One thing that is very obvious and uncontested in all of this, is that Rosenstein and everyone else involved with all of this misconduct, And we ARE talking about misconduct in all of this, best case scenario, have been, and are flagrantly acting outside of their office and job descriptions. Repeat; this is not only very obvious, it is uncontested. This brings into question the qualifications of those on the opposite side of the bench doing the questioning. To operate outside of your office and job description brings with it some of the most serious charges, which are pretty well proven once the charge is proven. This conduct has been defended by Rosenstein vehemently from the beginning and one need only look at Mr. Rosenstein’s job description to see. Another point that the democrats have failed to deny in their justifications for their actions is that “the government” Them, were openly spying on an American citizen. Donald Trump was a private citizen when the Obama administration was embedding spies in the Trump campaign. Can anyone say “Watergate”??? As I said, all of this is uncontested, and I can only guess that Rosenstein does not contest it because 1) the charge has not been directly made, regardless of how obvious and 2)He simply doesn’t want to go there because his guilt is obvious through his defense of his own actions and brings an admission of guilt which, even if he were not convicted of treason, which is implicit, such a conviction would be almost irrelevant.
