In the setup for his interview with Rep Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Stewart Varney plays a clip of President Trump saying that this was the only time he was going to sign a garbage bill like the one he just held his nose and signed, the Paul Ryan – Mitch McConnell disaster that was once again the fulfillment of the Democrat Party’s wish list.   [[WATCH VIDEO BELOW]]

After noting that Gohmert didn’t vote for the bill, Varney asks if it’s time for Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan to hit the dusty trail. Gohmert points out that the spending bill could end up costing the Republicans the majority and in that case there’d be a total change of leadership in the House no matter what. Evidently he’s choosing to battle Ryan later, if need be.

Gohmert points out that the Senate likes to hang on to bad leadership, so there might not be any changes on that side. He says, “You’ve got to remember, Stewart, when you’ve got McConnell, Cornyn, Schumer in the room from the Senate. You’ve got Ryan, you’ve got Pelosi,” somehow he’s not sure about Steny Hoyer, “I don’t think he’s for a wall,” saying that apparently “there’s nobody in the room that wants a wall.”

Gohmert points out the things that got the President elected were not popular among the establishment obstructionists and they haven’t changed in that regard. They’re still fighting him every step of the way and it may well cost the GOP the leadership in the House.

Varney asks Gohmert if there’s any way they can ignore or invalidate portions of the Omnibus bill, which Gohmert replies that they cannot, that a line item veto was struck down by the Supreme Court. He notes that the House is already working on next year’s budget and has a feeling that history will repeat itself, that the House will pass 12 budgets and the Senate will pass none.

He says, “It’s going to be another CR, another omnibus, get us past November, and if that happens then I think we’re in big trouble. We have got to force the Senate to pass appropriations bills. Do a budget, pass twelve appropriations bills. They haven’t done it in years. Over and over the House passes twelve appropriations bills, we have a budget, and then they come along and say, “We’re not doing any of that because we don’t want to take tough votes.”

“It’s time for the Senate to get some real leadership,” says Gohmert, “and stand up and do the things they were elected to do. And I think on spending bills they’ve got to get to 51 votes. It costs us hundreds of billions of dollars to buy the Democrats to get to 60. It’s outrageous, it’s got to stop.”

Louie Gohmert is missing the point on Paul Ryan who needs to go also. I cannot believe that he would not nail Ryan’s backside to the wall. I thought Gohmert would have the backbone to put Ryan where he belongs, GONE! Who to trust not to wither like the Reps did who gave Paul Ryan the job while the people said NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Another Omnibus Bill, another disaster for the tax payer. From where is sit I those “not again” statements by Trump is nothing more than the usual mind herding. He did not “fight” for a sensible bill, and did not “lead”. It’s like saying one doesn’t believe in beating people to death while passing out the bats.

As always, I believe, the yea/nay votes were assigned before the vote. The managed opposition was handed out, and we never win. I’d like to believe that some of the nay votes were on principle, and maybe some of the yea votes may have been nay if they were allowed to vote for us.

I also blame the R side of the uni-party, they control all 3 branches and still will not do what’s right. They are playing us like a fiddle. A true leader would have demanded an end to these disastrous Omnibus bills.

My guess would be that only a few, maybe, has read the whole 2,232 pages.
I scrolled thru some last night.
They do realize it’s just an Omnibus Bill and things can be changed, another maybe on that too.
Dates I recall is 1876, 1911, and a couple more where the ” Bill” has been changed or rather, the appropriations.
On the plus side, Our Military gets a Boost, some new equipment, a few necessary repairs, possible a couple new jets and ships.
We get to start on The Wal and mend some fences and put a few more up.
We get a boost to stop the opioid crisis and some folks with some serious help to stop the habit, disease. Get some Folks off the streets and into some medical Clinic’s or Facilities.
This is just a start for 6 months.
We shall see who makes Improvements with funds and who squanders, if and when they get that opportunity.
    #MAGA
