Rep Gohmert makes the case that no DC insider can be trusted to clean up the mess at the DOJ and FBI, noting that even the elite FISA court has not done anything in response…
Rep Louie Gohmert joined David Asman for an interview, with them not taking the bait on the distraction away from Democrat criminality that the left is attempting to use to divert America’s attention, the non-story of Rob Porter.
Gohmert thanks Asman for that decision as he asks about the real issue for Wray and the FBI should have been in the Senate hearings, the spying by the FBI, DOJ and Obama regime on American citizens associated with the Trump campaign.
Asman asks if we learned anything more about that topic today. Gohmert compares Christopher Wray to the end of the movie Animal House, in which a character proclaims “all is well as he’s being trampled by people running crazy and rioting.”
Gohmert says, “He’s got to decide. We know now that the DOJ, at the top, the FBI, here in Washington, not out in the field, here in Washington, was weaponized.” He says Wray has to decide if he’s going to be part of the problem or if he’s going to join in the effort to fix things. He says, “It doesn’t help to continually come out and talk about all of the rank and file greatness of the FBI.”
Although those agents may be great, one thing Gohmert and Asman don’t mention is their apparent total silence over the corruption they see on a daily basis in their leadership, putting career before country in many cases.
They move on to a discussion of the Susan Rice CYA letter she emailed to herself on Trump’s inauguration day, saying, as Asman describes it, “that we do all of our investigations by the book.” Asked what he makes of it, Gohmert laughs and says, “Well, it’s what somebody who has not been doing things by the book says as they’re leaving office to make it sound like, ‘Gee, I was doing things by the book.'”
He says, “I don’t know of anybody that’s been fooled by that email. That was a desperate attempt to cover their tracks after the tracks have already showed up.” He says, “It’ something a child would do when they’re caught red-handed, ‘Oh, we did it all by the book,’ oh give me a break.”
Asman asks why not just wait for the Inspector General’s report rather than seeking a second special counsel. Gohmert responds that “The legal process was corrupted at the top of the FBI and the top of the DOJ. He wants another special counsel to impanel a grand jury and start putting people in jail and it must be someone from the outside who isn’t part of the system and friends with the suspects.
He points out, “The FISA judges should have already sent people to jail when they misrepresented things, not once, twice, three times, but four times. Somebody should have answered for that and we see what happens when you’re inside the system, like a FISA judge apparently sees themselves. We’ve got to clean it out.”
