Rep Gaetz is demanding a DOJ investigation into the creation of an FBI safe space for Hillary Clinton that protected her from prosecution and even more evidence…
Many Americans hope that we will soon reach the point where the evidence against the corrupt in the DC swamp will become too much for them to cover up any longer. We want congressional hearings at some point soon to serve as more than theatrics and stock footage for campaign ads. Investigations of corrupt officials need to yield indictments.
Rep Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is a member of the House Judiciary Committee, which has oversight over the FBI and DOJ. He’s calling for an investigation into the apparent corruption at the FBI in which Hillary Clinton was insulated from prosecution. He wasn’t satisfied with the responses he and other committee members were given by AG Jeff Sessions in his recent testimony and now he’s got another bone to pick with DOJ.
At issue is last year’s email declaration, sent just prior to the election by FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, that the Clinton investigation was going to receive “special status.” That’s an ambiguous term and, as Ingraham said, many people might assume that it meant a more intensive probe. That was not the case, it meant “hands off,” she’s untouchable.
Gaetz notes that McCabe told others at the FBI that there would be a “small team at headquarters” that would make the decisions and conduct the investigation, “walling off others who might have discovered information or brought additional facts to light.”
If you’re engaged in obstruction, which they were, of investigations into criminal activity, the last thing you want is some honest cop stumbling around your carefully laid out cover up and exposing the truth.
It’s an even more damning situation when combined with the Comey predetermination of guilt and drafting of an exoneration later before the investigation was anywhere near completion. Gaetz says, “Now we have absolute proof…that Hillary Clinton was treated differently than other American would be treated.”
“And as a member of the Judiciary Committee,” says Gaetz, “I want answers from the FBI about how we can stop this kind of special treatment for politicians in the future.” He notes that everything has to be taken in context and in this case McCabe was telling others at the FBI that this won’t be handled like other investigations. Other investigations produce actual charges, this one was designed not to.
Who knows, between Gaetz and Jordan the Judiciary Committee may be able to succeed where others have failed miserably. Someone needs a sense of urgency and anger on behalf of the American people. Maybe the new guy is the one who can get it done.
