Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch announces they’ve filed a FOIA lawsuit for proof of Comey colluding with Mueller in crafting his testimony before the Senate Intel Committee earlier this…
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton announced on Tuesday that they are once again being forced to file a FOIA lawsuit due to an absence of cooperation from the Sessions DOJ, this time regarding potential collusion between former FBI Director James Comey and Robert Mueller.
Fitton says their lawsuit seeks, “To find out whether there was any coordination between the Department and James Comey, the former FBI Director, before his testimony earlier this year to the Senate Intelligence Committee.”
He continues, “You may recall his testimony where he admitted to leaking information to the New York Times in order to get a special counsel appointed to criminally prosecute President Trump. Now reports are that Robert Mueller, special counsel that was appointed, coordinated closely with Mr. Comey before this testimony.”
“If that happened,” says Fitton, “it would be a scandal and it speaks volumes that we’ve had to wait three months for a non-answer and that we’ve had to go to federal court to get the information.”
In the article announcing their lawsuit, Fitton noted a Fox News report, stating, “A source close to James Comey tells Fox News the former FBI director’s Senate testimony has been ‘closely coordinated’ with Robert Mueller, whom the Justice Department appointed as special counsel to oversee the Russia investigation.”
Once again the Sessions Justice Department is opposing the open, transparent release of information to the American people and obfuscating matters related to their conduct as if they’ve got something to hide.
Perhaps the deep state operatives and Obama holdovers have a lot to hide but that is no excuse for their actions, particularly those of Attorney General Sessions, who many thought would be conducting Justice Department matters in the exact opposite manner from what he is.
As others have said before, including Fitton, it’s as if Loretta Lynch never left DOJ.
