FBI and DOJ have corrupt leadership making them incapable of investigating themselves, as they have proven by withholding information from Congress. A 2nd special counsel
Bret Baier opens his interview with Reps Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Matt Gaetz (R-FL) with Gaetz, noting that he spoke on the House floor earlier and asking him what he and Rep Jordan are calling for.
Gaetz notes the double standard of bias at DOJ and the FBI, that benefitted Hillary Clinton and works to the detriment of President Trump, saying that “Hillary Clinton was essentially investigated by her own fan club.”
He raises the latest in the never ending flood of evidence of corruption, that Natalie Ohr, the wife of then-number four in DOJ leadership, Bruce Ohr, being paid by the Fusion GPS while they were producing the anti-Trump dossier, saying “it really calls into question the integrity of the investigation.” That’s putting it mildly.
Jordan points out that it’s been four and a half months since they initially called for a second special counsel. He says, “With each day, as we learn more and more, it just reinforces this idea that you had the Comey FBI and the Obama Justice Department coordinating with the Clinton campaign to go after President Trump.”
He recaps the revelations of the past couple of months which are pretty damning and put the matter realistically beyond the scope of what either the corrupt DOJ or the corrupt FBI is capable of fairly dealing with or willing to honestly partner with Congress in learning the truth. They’re covering up for their criminal actions and the two Congressmen, as well as others such as Ron DeSantis (R-FL), are aware of that fact. [[VIDEO BELOW]]
Rep Trey Gowdy continued to resist the calls to remove the investigation from the control of the obstructionists in the DOJ and FBI, who have already demonstrated that they are covering up what happened and continue to argue in court against the American people finding out what went on.
Gowdy puts his own motives in question when he uses the excuse that “These are Trump people,” when it’s clear that they are anything but. He argues, “Special Counsel either means we don’t think you can do your job, and the women and men that we pay millions of dollars to to run the DOJ. So we’re going to find somebody that’s not part of DOJ and give them a bunch of FBI agents and, oh, by the way, the FBI’s got some issues now.” He says we need a serious investigation, “who does it is immaterial.”
Gowdy understands the reasoning behind the special counsel being when you can’t trust that very leadership he’s endorsing, who have already demonstrated they are corrupt and working against the American people. Gowdy’s establishment never-Trumper stripes are beginning to show a little bit.
Gaetz effectively rebuts Gowdy’s clouded vision and his claims, saying, “I think that Trey Gowdy’s got a lot of affection for the Department of Justice and the FBI. Our problem is that the senior officials at those agencies, people who are right below the Director and the Attorney General are actually being implicated for bias.”
He continues, “I mean, how can we allow the Department of Justice to conduct this investigation when the guy who was the head of counterintelligence had his wife moonlighting for the Fusion GPS company, that was digging up fake dirt on the President to discredit him, both before and after the election?”
He says, “We have to have clean eyes, we have to have an outcome we can rely on and currently, with the FBI and the Department of Justice, there’s far too much bias, far too much evidence of coordination with President Trump’s enemies, and we can’t trust them.”
Asked if this is a problem for AG Sessions, Rep Jordan replies, “He doesn’t know where his recusal starts and stops.” He adds that to the inherently compromised Mueller Uranium One position and the Bruce Ohr conflicts, meeting with Simpson and Steele while his wife was on the Fusion GPS payroll, he says, “There is no other way to get to the truth for the American people other than through the necessary evil of a special counsel.”
Gaetz says, “The question is whether or not this entire narrative about President Trump and Russia was made up to cover up the collusion between Democrats and Russia and that’s what the evidence seems to be pointing to more and more.” He adds, “And it’s why we’re asking the questions.”
They also address the convenient timing of the sexual harassment allegations against President Trump resurfacing as a Democrat operation as the Mueller witch hunt falls apart.”
