FBI Director Wray was clearly a deep state plant from day one, yet President Trump gave him the job anyway. Now the snake has turned on him and the American people, hiding
Lou Dobbs leads off his conversation with Rep Mark Meadows (R-NC) about the developments surrounding the release of the Nunes memo, saying, “This is getting uglier by the moment, when we thought we were on the way to transparency, the release of the memorandum straightforwardly.”
Meadows agrees on both counts and points out that Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes is acting in accordance with his “obligation to inform Congress when there has been FISA abuses. And so all he’s doing is following his constitutional duty to let us know about that.”
Meadows isn’t surprised that the FBI is pushing back, noting that “They have been stonewalling for a year. They’ve had to come under a subpoena and a threat of contempt to be able to produce the documents and now all of a sudden they’re saying they’re concerned about omissions? Well let’s put all of the documents out there.”
Meadows describes what is happening as “This is the ‘thou protesteth too much’ when the FBI comes here. They have grave concerns, I have grave concerns, that the kinds of things that I’ve read about cannot continue. And now is the time for transparency.”
Dobbs is perplexed a bit by the reality that this resistance is coming from the man, Christopher Wray, put in the job of FBI Director by President Trump, “and he has the effrontery to go against his President, our President?”
Dobbs says, “I am stunned at what we are witnessing from the Justice Department, the ignorance of its actions and the ignorance of the words coming from the head of the FBI, this is stunning, stunning, stuff.”
Meadows reminds the audience that Wray was asked if there were any factual inaccuracies in the memo and that his understanding is that they could find none. “So now what they’re wanting to do is tell the rest of the story so that they can spin it their way.”
Dobbs receives word during the interview from John Roberts who is their White House Chief Correspondent, detailing a meeting between Chief of Staff Kelly and five FBI Staffers. He quotes Roberts’ report as saying, “Despite Kelly’s efforts to allay the concerns from the FBI, the FBI went ahead and released that statement today, saying that there were omissions and that they oppose the memo’s release.”
Roberts said that “the statement has left the White House scratching their heads as to what the FBI and the Department of Justice are up to.” Dobbs is more than willing to clear things up for the White House, saying, “They’re trying to cover themselves and their actions up from the view of the American people.
Meadows points out there are no sources revealed, the document is specific as to offenses, detailing things that happened that shouldn’t have been going on. He says if they are concerned about omissions, they are the culprits and their obstructive refusal to produce documents that they now complain aren’t included.
Dobbs puts it more succinctly, saying, “They’re telling the committee with oversight, in this case the House Intelligence Committee, along with judiciary in both the Senate and the House, they’re telling Congressional Oversight to go to hell. And there is no other way to construct this.”
