Desantis has been investigating corruption at FBI and DOJ and is now calling for McCabe to resign and filing of contempt charges against Rosenstein and Wray if documents they
The portion of the video in which Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe is walking down the hallway, flanked fore and aft by lawyers protecting him has the unmistakable appearance of a perp walk.
McCabe is stone faced, not even glancing over at the media as they focus their lenses on him and, although there is no audio of the encounter, surely some questions were being shouted. His body language is that of a nervous, guilty man who is fearful of the consequences.
David Asman sets the stage for his discussion with Rep Ron DeSantis (R-FL) by identifying some of the key members of the cabal that was and still is engaging in the conduct of a coup against President Trump. He names McCabe, Peter Strzok, Bruce Ohr and his wife Nellie Ohr.
Asman shows a graphic depicting the infamous text message from Peter Strzok to his mistress, Lisa Page, that references a discussion they had in Andrew McCabe’s office about acting as an insurance policy against a Trump victory. Asman notes that the fabricated dossier could well be that insurance they were discussing. [[VIDEO BELOW]]
DeSantis says, “Here’s what I know. We’ve asked multiple officials in both departments, ‘Did the FBI pay for the dossier? Oh we can’t answer that question.’ Now if you didn’t pay for the dossier wouldn’t you just say, ‘Of course we didn’t pay for the dossier.'”
He continues, “We’ve asked ‘did you use any of the information gleaned from the dossier to secure surveillance over anybody associated with Donald Trump? Oh, we can’t talk about that.’ Well, if you didn’t use the dossier you’d say, ‘Of course, why would we use a political opposition research document for that.’ But they won’t answer those questions. So that tells me…”
He’s interrupted by Asman, who has a good question, asking, “Why isn’t it possible for the President to himself to release all, can’t the President declassify a lot of this?” DeSantis says, “He could. I think that some of his advisers are saying that because this pertains to the special counsel investigation, if he does that then he’ll get criticized as having been meddling or trying to shape that.”
DeSantis continues, saying, “And I think they view this as he should just stay out of it, they don’t have the goods on collusion and just let that come to its end.”
He says, “So I understand that, but here’s the thing. There’s no reason why Rod Rosenstein or Christopher Wray can’t answer those questions for the Congress. Patience is wearing thin. There will be subpoenas if need be and there will be contempt citations if need be.”
In essence it seems that DeSantis is stating that there is no or little need for President Trump to take that action because they are demanding the documents anyway, and he can let them do the discover and fight the battles for the truth on his behalf.
DeSantis points to the cozy relationship between Andrew McCabe’s wife and Clinton insider Terry McAuliffe and how McCabe was in charge of the Clinton investigation up to the point of a symbolic recusal six days prior to the election. All that did was document the fact that he knew he had a conflict of interest and deliberately ignored it to remain involved in the cover up for Clinton.
DeSantis advised FBI Director Wray to get rid of dirty cop McCabe, something he expected he might do when he took over. DeSantis says he wouldn’t be against President Trump firing McCabe but that he understands why it would be better if it were done by someone else.
He asks, “Wouldn’t it be good to have somebody that doesn’t have all of these questions swirling around them in this important law enforcement agency?”
