Rep DeSantis refuted the ludicrous claims of Trey Gowdy that the FBI was doing what Americans want in spying on the Trump campaign as well as Gowdy’s inference…
Congressman Ron DeSantis (R-FL) sits on the same House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that is chaired by Mueller COUP cheerleader Trey Gowdy. He’s challenging and refuting some of the disinformation that Gowdy has been out vigorously spreading around over the past few days, sugar-coating the DOJ spying on the Trump campaign by the corrupt Obama regime and DOJ. [[WATCH VIDEO BELOW]]
The video starts with a clip of Gowdy squandering his diminished political capital and propagandizing for the left, saying, “The FBI did exactly what my fellow citizens would want them to do when they got the information they got, and that it has nothing to do with Donald Trump.”
Brian Kilmeade summarizes things as he interprets Gowdy’s comments, “it shows that they looked at two people on the periphery and saw about their links and if it was a problem they would have spoken to the President, do you have a problem with an informant doing that?”
DeSantis enlightens the sometimes naive anchor, saying, “Well, the way the FBI and potentially other agencies did that was not trying to protect then-candidate Donald Trump. If you had a problem with somebody on the periphery of the campaign, the obvious thing to do is to go brief the campaign and brief Donald Trump.”
DeSantis asks, “And guess what Donald Trump would have done. If it was some tangential figure he would have said, ‘OK, we’re not going to have them involved in the campaign.’ Instead, they deployed this informant to spy on the campaign, and he was trying to manufacture contacts with Papadopoulos, with Sam Clovis, with these people. And he was doing it over and over again and he may not have been the only one.”
“So, when you’re deploying surveillance powers, counterintelligence powers against an opposition party’s campaign,” says DeSantis, “that is not normal and I think that is not what Americans want the FBI to be doing.” Kilmeade shows he’s not up to speed on the facts with his next question, allowing DeSantis the opportunity to correct possible similar misconceptions among Americans at home.
He asks, “Do you feel as though, you’ve seen all the information, that would reveal yes or no whether this Cambridge professor was the only one?” DeSantis replies, “No, we have not gotten all the information and even in that briefing, [something Gowdy chose to not mention in his sermonette] they did not provide the documents that Devin Nunes asked for.”
“So we need to know what was the FBI doing,” says DeSantis. “Were they directing people, like this professor and potentially other people, and why all this robust activity focusing on the campaign as a whole? They did not conduct themselves to only focus on one tangential figure, I mean they really looked at the campaign.”
DeSantis says, “And you have to also ask yourself, Brian, why for months and months have they stonewalled Congress about the answers? If in fact the FBI was doing what every American would want them to do, wouldn’t they want to be glad to tell that story to Congress so the American people had all of the facts?
One point that Rep DeSantis didn’t raise in relation to the meeting that Nunes and Gowdy were in as well as the Gang of Eight meeting that followed it regarding the refusal once again by the DOJ to provide the documents that have been sought is that in doing so they are violating the public demands of the President of the United States for transparency and for the documents to be provided. Why is President Trump allowing them to get away with it?
A rebellion by the deep state DOJ should be a point of particular concern for an administration a broad and endless attack by the very agencies that are conducting themselves as if they are rulers in a dictatorship and the American people, including the President of the United States, are beneath them as mere subjects.
When the coup is this obvious and players like Gowdy and the DOJ leadership are this blatant in their conduct, it’s a ominous indicator that outside of Nunes, Jordan, Meadows, other Freedom Caucus members, nobody else in Congress is sharing the alarm that DeSantis is expressing. The people see what’s going on, Congress is wearing blinders.
