Dems Given Victory, Leverage As Mounting Pressure Forces General Flynn To Resign

They’re probably popping the champagne bottles at the Schumer household as he chalks up a victory in his campaign against the Trump administration. National Security Adviser General Michael Flynn has resigned effective Monday evening. Nancy Pelosi must be thrilled as well, as she went on the record earlier in the day calling for his resignation.

Gloria Borger of CNN quoted her source as confirming the report by message at around 10:45 in the evening. She indicated that General David Petraeus would be coming into the White House for a visit on Tuesday. She indicated new information had made its way to the President over the course of the evening that, “in the end the dam burst and the President had no choice but to accept General Flynn’s resignation.”

Reporter Jim Acosta, whom the President had a rather heated exchange with which ended with Acosta raising his voice as President Trump called CNN fake news not long ago read the General’s resignation letter on air. He was also able to control his emotions with no hint of his satisfaction being apparent. He reports that Lt. General Keith Kellogg, who was National Security Adviser during the transition process will fill in on an acting basis.

Borger reports her sources as telling her that there were some feelings within the administration that Flynn’s office was not being run as well as it should have been but that in the end it was the flood of information coming in that sealed his fate. She’s CNN, they’re fake news, that may or may not be the case.

This is what the Democrats wanted, a Trump scalp to hang on the Schumer and Pelosi fireplaces and a step towards discrediting his victory, more ammunition for their assertions that the Russians were involved in the President’s win. Now we’ll surely hear the calls for more investigations into what went on and it’s going to be very difficult for the President not to acquiesce to their demands. He needs to remain strong and defiant if he can, picking his fights, but this is a really unfortunate development.

The facts are going to play a secondary role to the hype, as they always do with the Democrats, and their media propagandists are going to have a field day.

This was spot on story Rick

  2. He was a good choice but Trump will get someone better. The media needs to be stopped but other than boycotting I don’t know what else to do. Any person found to be giving out information to the media should be charged with treason and given the harshest penalty possible!

  3. Flynn is the best man for the job! We must keep him as an adviser. This is a travesty – the vile democrats are out of control. They are undermining our government at every turn. Every nominee they reject is a rejection of the people. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Marlene, I’ve actually spoken to the General, for a half hour, this is an honorable man, I am so upset about this that I want to cry. And Rick and others, is it right that the police state of Obama’s FBI was allowed to tape him and then leak the conversation. Even Charles Krauthammer who I have little in common with because he’s a pro-abort, made the statement that Flynn was just doing his job.

I truly am astonished that Trump didn’t say to him…”We’ll weather this storm, I don’t want your resignation, get back to work.” That’s what he should have done. Now there’s blood in the water and the sharks are circling. Who will the CIA target next. There is no one better than Flynn at Islamic terrorist, I know that for a fact…unless you want to pull General McChrystal out of retirement. God help us if Trump puts in Clinton loving Patraeus

Exactly right. I’m so sickened about this, cried when I heard it late last night. Flynn is so knowledgeable on the Islamists and how they work…he was the BEST intel man to have. This was all orchestrated by CIA and Sally Yates, Brennan, and I’m not at all happy with Pence. Flynn never said anything on the phone call, and that’s been proven, that was against the Logan Act. This was a witch hunt. Now there’s blood in the water, so who is next?
Here’s my article on Flynn that came out today…a day late. General Michael T. Flynn, Best Choice for NSA Chief http://newswithviews.com/Nelson/kelleigh394.htm

They may be celebrating a small victory but, knowing Trump as we now do, he MAY just find someone else who’s even more ruthless than Flynn. Trump does NOT like to lose. He’ll make up for this setback – guaranteed!

  6. This should not have happened!
