One of CNN’s leftist blabber mouth propagandists, Chris Cuomo, invited Republican Virginia Senate candidate Corey Stewart, a strong supporter of President Trump, on air for a live interview. He clearly hoped it would be an opportunity to ridicule and corner Stewart as he talked over him, falsely portrayed his positions, and got into a pointless attempt at gotcha. That’s not constructive and doesn’t inform the public, but that’s what happens when a Republican goes on CNN.
Stewart takes the initiative early, accusing CNN of exploiting the death of Heather Heyer, the Charlottesville demonstrator who was run over while standing in the street, in what was the familiar riotous conduct of the AntiFa, BLM communists.
He recognizes the death of Heyer as “a tragedy,” adding, “What is even more tragic, though, is CNN trying to exploit this woman’s death to try to say that all this violence was caused by the far right, when you know darn well that there was violence by both sides, AntiFa, a radical, left-wing, violent organization, which you and other liberals have refused to condemn.”
After Cuomo pushes a pointless debate over whether the car attack should be labeled as terrorism, Stewart calls him out for “Refusing to condemn AntiFa and all of the other far-left organizations who are committing crimes, shooting Steve Scalise, by the way, which you have never condemned. Any of this violence that’s occurring by the left. And that means they’re encouraged, they’re emboldened and they’re going to do it again and the blood is going to be on your hands.”
Cuomo assumes his trademark “holier than thou” smugness, saying, “Corey, I would caution you not to be reckless with the truth on this particular show.” The inevitable response from Stewart, was, “Well you do it all the time, you do it all the time, you’re reckless on the truth every morning.”
Cuomo then put’s on his psychiatrist lab coat and tells Stewart he basis his opinions on what he wants to be true. This is an interview? What a clown this Cuomo is – if he were on any legitimate show he’d be sending out resumes by know, undoubtedly laden with errors, lies and distortions as well.
Stewart asks Cuomo if he defends the violence on the left, to which he replies with a generalized “everybody condemns violence,” to which Stewart interjects “except you apparently.” Cuomo then goes on with the word parsing and once again, as he does throughout the remainder of the interview, refusing to acknowledge the existence of the radical violent leftists or to even say the word AntiFa. George Soros wouldn’t approve.
Clearly, just as Stewart says, there is a double standard on violence and free speech. The left can do anything they want with impunity and the right will always be the bad guys. Stewart gets in some entertaining shots at the crooked propagandist, making the most of his air time.
If he goes head to head against Tim Kaine on a debate stage, Kaine is doomed – he might as well retire now.
