It is to be expected that when the executive branch is being forced to operate short-staffed or with the loyalists of the previous corrupt regime still holding their positions that things will not be operating as smoothly as they would be were the appropriate staffing levels allowed to be obtained. Obstructionism by Democrats is seriously impacting the President’s ability to do his job; it’s deliberate and he knows it.
President Trump told Maria Bartiromo in a recent interview, “I am waiting right now for so many people, hundreds and hundreds of people. And then they’ll say, ‘Why isn’t Trump doing this faster?’ You can’t do it faster because they’re obstructing. They’re obstructionists. So I have people, hundreds of people, that we’re trying to get through, I mean, you see the backlog. We can’t get them through.”
He points out, “And then the newspapers will say, ‘Trump doesn’t get them through.’ It’s got nothing to do with me, statutorily you have to go through this process. So it’s been a lousy process and it’s taken a long time to get my cabinet done and as you know it’s not even done now. This is records stuff, we’re talking about records in terms of time.”
Bartiromo asks why so many “Obama era staffers” are still in the White House, asking, “Was it a mistake not to ask Jim Comey to step down at the outset of your Presidency? Is it too late now to ask him to step down?”
President Trump replies, “No, it’s not too late but I have confidence in him, we’ll see what happens, it’s going to be interesting but we have to just…” Trump notes how many people want to come to work in the administration and reminds Bartiromo that Comey saved Hillary Clinton. He said, “He saved her life,” noting that “when he was reading those charges, she was guilty on every charge. And then he said she was essentially okay.”
Bartiromo, interjects, “That’s why I’m asking you, why is he still in the job?” President Trump says he wants to give everybody a good fair chance. He’s had a fair chance and then some. He hasn’t done well when taken at face value, so there’s likely more here than meets the eye.
Trump followed those remarks by saying, “Director Comey was very, very good to Hillary Clinton, that I can tell you. If he weren’t, she would be, right now, going to trial.” She asks, “Are you going to push that, are you going to put…” President Trump cut her off, saying, “Oh, I don’t to talk about that, I want to talk about positive.”
We would kind of like to hear about that, Mr. President. For many of your supporters, her going to trial would be a huge positive, as it would be with Hussein Obama. “Lock her up” still has a nice ring to it.
He believes the rule changes about sharing raw data were absolutely done for political reasons, citing the Susan Rice antics in his explanation. Bartiromo says that Rice “said she didn’t do it for political reasons.” Trump asks, “Does anybody really believe that? Nobody believes that, even the people that try to protect her in the news media.
The question that should have been asked then that we’ve never heard an answer to is why hasn’t he changed them back?
