Sen Ted Cruz is never at a loss for words. Dishonest CNN distortionist, Erin Burnett makes that claim, saying it took Cruz 18 seconds to reply to a question, implying…
Just how desperate CNN is to fabricate and distort a situation in order to try to create a scandal where there is none was demonstrated by their propaganda team headed by Erin “her head” Burnett when she told her panel of America and Trump haters that she “just has to play” a clip that was composed largely of Senator Ted Cruz or a reporter he was walking alongside making contact with the floor.
Somehow that was “must hear TV” in Burnett’s desperation to paint Republicans, particularly those who support President Trump, as being at odds with him. Burnett prefaces her little stunt by saying, “He’s a Constitutional expert, right, a Constitutional lawyer, you know, this is Ted Cruz we’re talking about here. He’s asked explicitly whether the President could pardon himself and I just have to play you the exchange.”
In an audio exchange, with no explanation as to what is happening, Cruz is asked if he would agree with President Trump’s claim that he can pardon himself. The reporter doesn’t bother to mention the supposed crime that he might have committed, which does not exist. Like the set up of the visualization of the audio segment, they leave that to the imagination of the viewer.
We then hear footsteps with no utterances, no struggling for words, nothing that indicates Cruz is attempting to answer the questions. There is only the sound of footsteps, an indication that the group may be walking along and the reporter asking the question is wearing heels. What sounds like doors opening and closing and other bumps can be heard throughout as well.
At the 3 and 4 second mark it sounds as if Cruz is saying something that can’t be made out, which diminishes the dramatic effect and veracity of the “18 seconds of silence” claim by roughly 22%. At the 14 second mark of the counter, a male voice can be heard asking, “Do you agree with that.”
Two seconds later Cruz responds, “That is not a Constitutional issue I have studied, so I will withhold judgment at this point.” A two second response time is pretty good. But Burnett chooses to ignore the fact that a second person was the one Cruz responded to and the fact that he was obviously on the move and negotiating some types of obstacles along the way.
For CNN the truth or being reasonable don’t matter. If it did, Burnett, just like Don Lemon, would be out looking for a job somewhere, along with the members of her panel, most notably, the “shocked and bug-eyed” April Ryan. President Trump calls them fake news for a reason. It’s a title they’ve earned over and over again.
