Chaffetz – Republicans Need A Backbone – Dems Call Kushner, Call Chelsea Clinton

“Republicans need to get a backbone,” says former Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) when asked about the testimony of Jared Kushner before the Senate Intelligence Committee.  “Every time the Democrats say they need to call up Jared Kushner or Donald Trump Jr., then call up Chelsea Clinton, call up the Clintons.”

He says, “There we have an Inspector General who issues a report stating an actual crime. You have Bill Clinton, the former President, taking millions and millions of dollars from countries that Hillary Clinton was then going into and doing business. So every time a Democrat says, ‘I gotta talk to Donald Trump Jr., then go up and bring Chelsea Clinton in there.”

Chaffetz continues, “Because she was involved in the Benghazi situation, she was involved with the Foundation. I mean, when I tried as the chairman of the Oversight Committee, to bring in Ben Rhodes to talk about the Iran situation, nobody knows what the deal with Iran was, they claimed executive privilege.”

“I think the Trumps,” says Chaffetz, “need to actually get a lot of credit for openness and transparency. They didn’t delete their emails – they provided their emails. When they wanted to talk to them they said ‘ you can talk to us.’ And yet when we did the same thing with the Democrats they give us a stiff arm every single step of the way.”

He acknowledges a double standard in DC and with the media and says one also exists with the US Senate Republicans “because they are holding them to a much higher standard, with very little evidence, than they ever did the Clintons. And that investigation – why did it end? Just because there was a political election. I think that’s wrong.”

He says it’s absolutely ridiculous that Kushner is coming to the Capitol to testify on this, he’s got a lot of other important things he should be doing that it’s taking him away from and “They would never, ever, ever do this to the Clintons. And that is what is fundamentally wrong with this.”

Chaffetz notes, “They could have easily, out of all the people in the world they could have easily claimed executive privilege on this one, proximity to the President, it’s his son-in-law, he’s his closest adviser, he could have easily pulled that off. But there he is, he’s gonna go in there as an open book and they should get a lot of credit for it.”

  1. Chaffetz is a showman without a show. A verbose, worthless, phony POS. Why does he keep showing-up?

Cll up Chelsea “Hubbell” Clinton ASAP! Also, do a DNA Test to verify Chelsea’s sire.

It is totally a double standard. The Trumps haven’t done anything illegal and yet they are being investigated and questions about every little thing. Look at what the last administration committed right before Congress and got a away with it and no one is even interested in bringing them to justice. This kind of double standard needs to stop. The criminals are getting by with “murder” and the Republicans who haven’t done any wrongs are getting grilled every day for the past 6 months plus even though they haven’t found a thing that they have broken the law in any way.

Kind of an oxymoron with Chaffetz telling the GOP to get a back bone, he was missing his when he was in Congress, not all the time, but a lot.

  6. Chaffetz, chairman of the Oversight Committee, a big do nothing RINO. He does manage to spit out some correct points, but never manages to get past his own corruption.
