Four Broward County Sheriff’s Deputies are reported to have let children die in the interest of their own safety. Union President Jeff Bell said he’s heard those reports but can’t…
The Broward County Sheriff’s Deputies’ Union President, Deputy Jeff Bell, joined Laura Ingraham to say what he could about reports that four deputies cowered behind their police cars as kids were dying inside the building and refused to engage the gunman. The reports come from the Coral Springs Police Department, also on the scene and whose officers all took action.
Bell says deputy Scot Peterson, the first of those who cowered in safety as kids were being murdered, actually followed protocol for the first minute of the incident, calling in the incident, location and requesting assistance. It was at that point, when he remained outside, that he failed to do his job.
Bell says, when there is an active shooter, “when you are the first person there on scene, every second that you delay going into that building and every single gunfire that you hear from inside that building, that means that there’s another innocent life being lost and it’s unacceptable not to go inside that building.”
Ingraham references the statements of Coral Springs Police regarding the Broward Cowards, the deputies who clung to the safety of their cruisers, and their having expressed frustration and disgust over the deputies’ refusal to engage the shooter. [[VIDEO BELOW]]
Bell replies with some double speak of his needing additional information before he could comment on those reports. He needs more time because the actions are inexcusable and there is enough evidence to indicate that the Sheriff’s Department and the deputies he represents did the unthinkable on that day. They let civilians, innocent children, die rather than face the danger of the situation themselves.
Bell points out that the Broward County school board deserves a large share of the blame as well. They claim to want protection for their students but don’t want to pay for it and they don’t want to create negative imagery. It’s kind of like those who claim to want border security but are opposed to “an ugly wall.”
Bell says, “For years they’ve known that the schools have been soft targets and they claim that they want to have better police presence inside the schools and they want tougher security. But yet they do not want to cough up the money to pay for that better security and fortify their schools and have better designs. They don’t want that.”
He points to “a lot of the liberal-thinking principals” as not wanting any of the unpleasant components of a police presence to take place on campus “because it looks like there’s bad stats at the school.” He also says that 23 calls to the Sheriff’s Office about this Cruz family is not an unusual occurrence.
He says, “I can tell you it’s not an uncommon thing, where we spend two, three, four, five times a week that we respond to the same house for the same problem over and over again.”
Ingraham asks Deputy Bell what he thinks about the demonizing of the NRA. He says, “I firmly believe that this is not a gun issue. I’ve said this from day one and I’ll hold that belief until the day I die. It’s not the gun that’s the problem, it’s the person behind the gun that is the problem.”
Sheriff Israel, the guy who runs a department whose cowardice resulted in kids dying unnecessarily disagrees with Bell, wanting to blame the guns. Once again, a libtard, won’t take responsibility for their own failures or mistakes and places the fault elsewhere.
