The President of the National Border Patrol Council, Brandon Judd, describes a new feeling that he’s observed among his fellow agents which he describes as “A buzz that we’ve never seen before in the Border Patrol and of those agents, we feel we now have a President that we can trust and that has the political will to finally secure the border. And we expect to see an awful lot of policies that have undermined border security change in the near future.”
O’Reilly asks for specifics of the changes expected under President Trump, which Judd provides, saying, “What we have right now, that has drawn vast numbers of people from other countries to come to the United States is what we call the catch and release program. The vast majority of all of those individuals that cross the border illegally, that we arrest, we just turn around and release. In other words we walk them right out our door, in some cases give them a bus ticket to Atlanta, Boston, New York and there’s no consequences.”
Judd says, “In essence what we’re doing is we’re rewarding them for breaking our law.” O’Reilly asks “How did that ever happen, though, how did that catch and release happen?” Judd replies, “That was an Obama policy, that was the administration’s policy. They forced us to, in essence, stop enforcing the laws. And of course when we stop enforcing the laws, that word spreads. And most people think that this is just Mexico, these are just people from Mexico that we’re arresting. And that’s as far from the truth as there is.”
“We arrest people from the Middle East, we arrest people from South America, we arrest people from countries in the Ukraine (?) and so the message that we have sent is that if you come here and you break our laws, we’re going to let you go and you’re going to be able to stay in the United States.”‘
O’Reilly gets a bit more clarification on the mandated release component of the catch and release policy, asking, “You have to let them go?” Judd notes once again that they escort them out the door, sometimes to a bus station. He’s asked about the hearing dates that they are given, noting that most never show up.
Why would they? They’re encouraged to live in the shadows and protected in sanctuary cities. They still can get a driver’s license, college and education for their kids, health care, welfare and food stamps. They can even take an American’s job without sanctions against the employer. Why would they take a chance on being deported when there’s no downside to living in hiding?
That’s all going to change tomorrow at high noon. If we could only hold those responsible, Hussein Obama, Jihadi Jeh Johnson and the others accountable, they’re the culprits in all of this and it seems as though they may be getting away with it. We’ll see; Senator, soon to be Attorney General Sessions is nobody’s fool. He’s knows exactly what’s been going on.
