The Facebook management probably wishes they were a little further along in their censorship and elimination of truth by labeling it as “fake news” program, given the embarrassing nature of this latest true story to reveal the true nature of those on the left. The reality is not nearly as wholesome as they like to pretend. This time they’re left in a rather unflattering and compromising legal and ethical position involving a virtual young girl.
A few words of advice for geek types who live inside a virtual reality or behind a computer screen. Underage girls don’t need you or want you, they’ve got underage boys that they already know who are likely taking care of whatever you might be inclined to engage in. Act your age or at least act your legal peer group and get someone old enough to vote and have a conversation about something other than Harry Potter or some pop or rap “artist.” Maybe someone that has read a non-text book would be a good place to start, especially if you’re almost forty.
As Dov Katz, the billionaire head of computer vision at Oculus VR, what might be described as an idiot genius, is now in the process of learning, if a girl is fifteen, run the other way. If she says she’s fifteen, run twice as fast; she’s likely a cop setting you up for a nasty fall.
Katz was arrested on December 21 at a local Seattle hotel for allegedly soliciting sex from an underage girl. As it turns out the issue of who was soliciting whom is in dispute as there was a police sting being set up that Katz took the bait on. Had he just turned the person on the other end down when he was informed he was dealing with a minor, he would have possibly had some prostitution charges but nothing major. As it is, he was willing to engage in a tryst with a young girl and that’s not the kind of thing he’s going to just walk away from, billions no billions.
Katz, a 38-year-old Israeli, whose company Oculus was purchased by Facebook in 2014 for $2 billion, was “an integral part of the team that developed the Oculus Rift headset. A guy with the kind of money that selling a company for $2 billion would have might find it beneficial to employ a personal assistant, someone to help them function in daily life beyond the keyboard in a variety of ways, including taking care of introductions to real, of age, girls. It would have been money well spent, in retrospect, as he has now been charged with attempted commercial sexual abuse of a minor and will have legal fees in addition to all of the other problems that go along with a serious offense like that. According to the charging documents, Katz was texting with an undercover agent from the Tukwila Police Department who identified himself as a 15-year-old female. A third party personal assistant would have completely diffused the situation to a non-event. Katz has been released on $125,000 bail.
Stay away from the headset Mr. Katz and start dealing with real life on life’s terms. It’s not like you’ve got much in they way of alternatives. It just grabbed you by the scruff of the neck.
